After sending my scouts around the world a few times I've noticed that the regions I can send to have become more specific. Rather than just "Africa" I now have "South, Northern, Eatern, Western and Central" to go to.

i#m pretty sure we've always had different regions of africa to send scouts to.... or at least since FM07, can't remeber before then as beer has ruined my memory

Perhaps this option changes the more scouts you have. My club is just becoming established in the Prem and I've taken on more scouts.

I think they only appear once you have knowledge of the continent now though :thup:

that could be it, i haven't tried to send scouts abroad when i'm not in the prem (or top div of whatever country).

Sorry to contradict, but there wasn't in my career game. Clearly somehow it has to be enabled, which by default your career game has. Perhaps you started with a bigger club or something.

I'm thinking it's got something to do with your Board's view on scouting (with regard to Finances, etc). Personally, I've only ever had the chance to scout within my own continent, or have no restrictions whatsoever, so can't really say for sure.

AFAIK it would go

Nation only - Region - Continent - World

But the continent and world parts are always split into regions

i think maybe some people are getting mixed up between scouting and player search (based). depending on your club status more regions are unlocked the higher profile you are but you can always search players in specific regions.

the more knowledge you have of these regions the more chance of players being returned in the search
