FM 08-Started Unemployed? Tell us your career so far.
Hello football manager fans, this is the official fm 08 thread of starting unemployed. We would like you to post the following;
What experience you started with
What team offered you the job and when (no applying)
What league is that team in
How are you doing with them so far
Where do you expect to take them
I think that starting with automatic experience (none) is a great challenge for all fm players not just enthusiastic ones like me, working a team up the leagues by building a strong squad around you.
So if you have started unemployed and wish to tell us about it without the need to boast, post here!
Thanks

I'll get the ball rolling , i started with automatic experience and had to wait until the 1st on November 2007 to get a job, Oxford United who were expected to be cruising at the top of the BSP were around 4th place and the board had had enough, they sacked their current manager and offered me the job, now around 7 games in ive crept them back to the top of the table and looking to gain some breathing space.

Yeah, I started with automatic experience but didn't have to wait long, in fact it was three days and Spanish side Lemona (League B2) approached me and offered me a job, which I of course took. It's January 2008 now and I'm still with them, the board are satisfied, I'm 10th in the league so halfway... looking ok so far. I hope to at least get them promoted to B1 within three years, but that will be a challenge with £100 to spend on transfers and the highest weekly wage possible being £200. Hmmm we shall see.I'll update you as things progress!

Started unemployed as a SUnday League footballer, as in real life.
Got offered the Eclija Balompie job in Spanish Division B4, on a two year contract that I accepted. Found out they have a parent affiliate as Sevilla which was incredibly handy as I have literally loaned about 8 players from them and finished first in league.
However, I am now in the process of the Promotion play-offs, came through the first round knocking about Leganes but I now have Villajoyosa and have to go there for the second leg with the score at 1-1 after an appalling showing at home.

I also started as unemployed with no experience and got the job at Eclija Balompie... Only just started but have won all 3 of my league matches (leaving me in 1st) so all is going well as I have been predicted to attain a respectable position within the league.
Budget:16k (British Pounds)
My signings are:
*Przemyslaw Kazimierczak(GK),(10k),(Bolton Wanderers)
*Pablo Jose Gallardo(DC),(Loan),(Sevilla)
*Antonio Abades (GK),(Loan),(Sevilla)

Started unemployed with automatic reputation and got the Tamworth (Blue Square North) job in early march 2008. Finished the season in mid table. Come summer I sacked 90% of my team and got Aston Villa as my parent club and loaned most of their under 18yrs squad. The next season I went unbeaten and my record was 42games with 38 wins and 4 draws and 0 losses. Needless to say I won the title and in the process got 7 manager of the month awards and 1 manager of the season. Finances soared as my wage budjet was minimum and after gaining promotion to Blue Square Premier I have been able to buy a good team with only 4 loan players left.

I started unemployed with unproven manager status and got a job managing Sparta Rotterdam in the dutch Prem. At the moment I am 15th in division exactly what the media predicted and basically fighting for survival. Got a really good loan signing though, Tomas Priskin from Watford he scored about 8 goals in 11 matches. Trouble is we have a dodgey defense that leaks as many as we score lol. I'll probably keep them up then leave next season and manage a english team since my reputation is aready at national now. BTW the dutch premier tough league in my opinion teams like ajax and PSV rip me to pieces.
