Well, since I'm on a Mac I'll be doing no holiday playing since there's a bug preventing you to accept a job that you're offered... That's why I'm looking forward to when the patch will finally arrive...

Experience: Automatic
I started with active leagues in 8 European countries and applied for every available job at the start of the game (UK July 07). I decided to do the "realistic" thing of accepting the role that offered the highest wages.
German 2nd division outfit Jena came in offering £1800 a week, far more than any other team had offered. The expectation was to avoid relegation over the next two years as the team was newly promoted from the regional divsions.
Unfortuntaley I am yet to win a game in 12 attempts, currently stuck at the bottom of the league with only 3 points.
I have to say that I'm more than a little disilusioned so far. I'm not a tactical genius by any account, but I've always experienced some success with teams I have managed in previous editions of the game. I have never been sacked in any version of CM/FM, but I feel thats going to change quite soon. I haven't played the game for 4-5 days now because I fear for the safety of my machine if I log on and lose another game
I have enjoyed the challenge of starting unemployed ever since the feature was introduced (which version was that again?) and will continue to do so.
I'll delve into the T&T forum, wait for the full patch and start a new game then.
Good luck to everyone else

Got offered Bradford cith job 28 games into the league 2 season with the team in 16th place and expecting a promotion push. 14 games in charge i won 9 drew 2 and lost 3 to finish 6th, then bury knocked me out of the playoffs after 3 of my players got sent off for violent conduct! So not a bad crack for my first game on 08, but yea then they sacked me and im now at yeovil awaiting the start of the season!

I started managing Vanuatu, and I could only play two matches, so that counts as unemployed. Then I was approached by Finnish First Division side F.C. Hameenlinna, and I got them promoted through the playoffs in the same season as taking over.

I started as Sunday footballer (Because I am a Sunday footballer)
I got the Lemona job within 3 or 4 days of starting the game. Lemona are in L2B2 in Spain. It is effectively the third tier of Spanish football, however this third tier is split into 4 20 team regional (I assume) divisions. So it's very hard to get promoted to the Spanish version of the Championship. Lemona's ground can hold 1600 and I was given a transfer budget of £7K, so I'd say they're akin to a Blue Square club in UK.
I had a truly excellent 1st season. The board wanted mid table, and I sneaked into the playoffs, finishing 4th. I had a great start, then an 11 game unbeaten run in the middle, then a few key injuries saw my side stumble over the line and only just make the playoffs, after I was beginning to think I could take the title. Best players were loaned from parent club Bilbao, Igor Angulo and Eneko. Current players Pastrian and Legerrata weighed in with the goals. Finishing 4th means that you play a team who has finished 1st in one of the other divsions. I lost to a far superiorer team in the play off semi.
Half way through my second season now. Had an abysmal start, was 19th having lost 6 from 1st 8 games. I guess it is 2nd season syndrome a la Wigan. Also causing problems was my large number of new signings taking a while to gel. A lot of players left at the end of last season and had to be replaced (loanees were my strongest players). Probably the only signing any average Brit will have heard of was Wrexham's Juan Ugarte- who has been a flop! Anyway, a change of formation saw me go another unbeaten run, and I'm now at Christmas in 11th palce, roughly having won as many as I've lost.
I don't really know where I expect to take them. It's so tough to get promoted, it's hard enough to get top 4, but even then you only enter the lottery of play offs, against the cream of all 4 third tier divisions. Some of the teams down there are full time, have huge stadiums and highly paid players. I signed a new 2 year contract after my succsesful 1st season, I'll see where we are at the end of that. I'll start looking for jobs then, ideally Championship in England- though don't know how plausible that will be.
This is by far the best way to play the game, I am loving it!!!

I started with semi-professional experience. I applied for jobs, I didn't see the sense in not doing so, I got offered a job by Central (PE) in the Brazilian National Third Division. They were in Group 1, predicted to finish bottom, but I eventually finished 3rd, 3 points off of qualification for the second stage and well clear of relegation like I was expected to do. I've signed no players because I left attribute masking on and so I knew no good players that I could sign, but despite a complete lack of right sided midfielders I've managed fine.
Using a 4-1-3-2 attacking formation, slightly edited with the central midfielder moving to an attacking position when we have the ball. I've been using changes in passing for every game, although my favourite is to have short passing and a quick tempo.
Best result is beating city rivals Porto (PE) 5-1 at their ground, avenging the 3-1 defeat they inflected upon us at our ground before I joined the club. They ended up being relegated as bottom place!
I've got a problem with scouts though. I hired two scouts, but I can't seem to get them to actually work properly and am bringing in no reports of good players, which means its extremely difficult to sign players. I'm kinda worried about what I'll do in the future then because I'd like to bring in another midfielder, preferably right sided to give me more options, a right back would be good and a keeper too. Without the scouting, I'm kinda stuck there.
Got nothing to do for several months now while I wait for the Pernambuco State Championship to come around in the new year. Looking at the teams in that division, I should be able to do very well and I hope I can make some sort of challenge for the title. Eventually I'm looking to get them promoted from the Third Division, which with a few good signings should be entirely possible.
