I am begging you SI guys, please try making this game a bit easier.

I can't speak for all the people here but I have a life other than playing FM. I can not spend four hours a day to master the game. I used to create wonders with CM03/04 and FM05. FM06 came a bit difficult, than did quite well on FM07, although I always thought the game was getting more and more difficult. Yet FM08 is on another level. I want to have fun while playing this game. I don't want my team to lose or draw more than half of the games after taking 30 shots per game. I don't want my see tens of red arrows when all the training schedules are 7-stars, only with 10 coaches. I don't want my strikers hitting the bar when they face the empty net. Those did not happen in the previous games.

For those who would say "it's not the game, it's you, your tactics, your schedules, your team-talks, etc...", I know that there must be a way to overcome all those difficulties and master this game. Yet, I believe finding that mystical(!) way gets harder and harder every year. It doesn't make me more ambitious like "oh, I must spend more time on it to conquer", on the contrary I start feeling like "what the hell I am spending so much time on this thing for".

SI, please consider this, I literally counted down hours for the official game and then the patch release but what I feel right now is only disappointment. It is not real life, it is a game. It is supposed to make us feel better and help us forget about the problems of the real world, not add more worries!

It'd be almost impossible for SI to make the game easier.

They'd basically have two options, intentionally make the oposition managers choose seriously flawed tactics, or treat AI teams different from player managed teams...

Interestingly, I find FM08 substantially easier than any previous version, at least when it comes to winning matches. A lot more complex than the simplicity of CM, which does tend to get in the way of fun at times, but nothing excessively annoying.

I agree with you, fgu82. I made a big mistake in buying the game as FM08 has just minor enhancement from FM07. In term of enjoyment, it is worse. FM09 better be an overhaul from FM08, if not, I guess SI will lose a lot of customers.

I agree with fgu82.Every new version feels more and more like a second job instead of a fun time.I guess that's the way it's gonna be from now on and some of us will finally have to accept that the realism bit took over the fun bit for good.

Luckily,I'm finding more enjoyable things to spend my time on these days.The game's been out for over a month now and I've only completed 1 season this far.It's not the bugs that's stopping me.I was doing extremely well in my game,no problems at all.It's the path SI chose to follow that's not going down well with me.It could be the fact that I have different priorities now and I'm not that passionate about games anymore,but I still feel that the magic is just gone.I guess Eidos kept the fun rights too,although they don't seem to be using them either

Yep i agree after all its only a game. People have lifes and for me from someone who has been playing since my amiga days the enjoyment has gone a bit.

I dont like have to spent a lot of time tweaking bars, spending hours changing tachtics.

Its only a game the best there is going about, but for me a bit of the magic has gone over the last few years.

I do ok in the game, but dont have the time and i really need to be in the mood to play the game, prob the first time since cm94.

I wish I had someone make me a tactic that works amazingly so that I could see why it works amazingly in this game.

07 was ok, 06 also, 05 all mild, I just don't find this to be balancing game and simulation very well.

I have no idea why my tactic works in this game nor do I know why they do not work.

Why? because in season 1 I will be awesome and then in season I will be utter crap, it simply is not realistic that a top team who are champions get 'figured out' and taken apart no matter what happens.

So I then start a new game, same team season 1, same good tactic from the identical previous game and it fails to work.

That also happened in 07, one season with Valencia I lost 1 game and had 2 draws, season 2 I sucked, I restarted a Valencia game, same tactic and it sucked.

TBH No one has answered why this randomness with tactics working/not working happens.

noooooooooo! the game is not hard, but not easy either..and i dont think you can expect SI to fit the game to your individualistic needs, its not hard, its only challenging

Plus i dont understand how so many people complain about its difficulty, i took control of Forest Green Rovers in the Conference Div (pre-patch) and went up to the Championship by 2014 and finished the season in 19th, then i installed the new patch and i ended up becoming 10th the season after and 4th the next, losing out in the play-offs final to Boro

i didnt notice any considerable difficulties and im roughly using the same tactics as before with some minor tweaks.

i think what a lot of you are doing is changing tactics on a game basis, and one of the game tips specifies that you SHOULDNT do that because it ruins the rhythm of your team and hence they wont perform as good
