i bought my game and recieved it boxed in the post last week, since then i have been completely obsessed with it and completely oblivious to any of these bugs/glitches/security measures,

until something comepletely unrealistic happened in my game,

at the end of the season, the winners of Euro2008 were

ENGLAND?

come on SI sort it out, i wanted this game to be an accurate reflection of the modern game not some kind of steve mclaren filled nightmare!!

completely agree, some sort of compromise between reality and fantasy is the key but certainly with England winning youve crossed the line between what's theoretically possible and what's just utter ********!!!

it happens, possibly a bug due to players being generated better than what they should be. happened in fm2007 too - i took over as manager of england after they crashed out to sweden in then euro2008 q/f. i reached the final of the 2010 world cup, destroying the likes of holland, argentina and italy along the way.. only to be comprehensively hammered in the final by... scotland

What's so unrealism about England being defeated by Scotland?

The French didn't have any complaints.

The copa america might actually be a standard bug and not one left in for the hackers.
Or have SI said that this is one of the anti piracy type bugs that will occur ?

As far as I know the Eruo 2008 wont happen on games stared with the retail version.

What exactly is Securom?

I mean, if it's ruining genuine copies of the game then It can't really be that user friendly.

I don't see how England in the Copa America is a bug? It's entirely plausible that they could play in a Copa America.

The Copa America invite two additional teams from other confederations every time. It's most regularly been Mexico plus 1 other CONCACAF team, but it is entirely plausible that they could invite England.

Absolutely pathetic behaviour from SI here. Anti-piracy has gone way too far in this game.

and the people who are pirating the game aren't being absolutely pathetic themselves?

It's not SI's fault that they used Securcom in good faith and that they've gone and made their own fix for an issue without consulting SI as to it's potential impact.

Regardless of how pathetic piracy is, those who pirate the game are getting a working product, which thousands of legitimate buyers aren't.

And when SI hire a company to handle anti-piracy procedures, they should be sure that they're capable of doing it. It doesn't matter who they subcontract these things out to, the game and its customers are SIs responsibility.
