Take a look at this game. I am Pools.

Too Often

So, in this game, I start off with an early goal and pure dominance. It is way too early in the match to call off the dogs, so I maintain my tactic. It works, or so I think.

I maintain control, hit the cross bar once, then even draw a PK that I, naturally, miss. Generally, the game sim is showing off some real nice passing, set ups and SOGs, but no 2nd goal. Luton are doing nothing besides backpeddling.

Of course, I know what is coming: First shot by Luton and, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

And, it is a shot from 25 yards o/s the box that looks like an easy save. Not for my keeper. It sneaks in. There go the flood gates.

I outshoot them by a lot and SOGs. I dominate possession. I have a lot more quality chances.

What is unusual is how often you do all of those things and either win just 1-0, tie or outright lose. In fact, sometimes you get killed, yet you have all but smashed their goal in half.

In games like this, it has gotten to the point where I "sympathize" with my players at the half. LOL.

So, I am puzzled about:

1. Losing games you dominate (the frequency)
2. Hitting the xbar
3. Offsides, goal disallowed
4. Fouls in the box as your corner goes in
5. Missed PKs
6. SOGs w/o scoring

SI, I love this game and I don't think I have complained a lot here, but...I am puzzled. Is this how it should play?

That game could have gone eithier way, don't know why you are moaning to be honest.

I have seen people moaning about having 20 + shots and loasing, while the other teams had only 4 etc.

I see what you mean, but in this game you really didnt outshoot them by much. they even had more shots on goal than you.

I'm not defending the game or anything, it's just that this may not be the best example of losing a "dominated" match.

They got more shots on target than you did, so try working on getting better strikers, or shutting down long shots, or whatever that kept you to a 5 for 12 ratio on shots.

To be honest, I could have put some others up there, but I just played this one. What I am really saying is that if you watch the sim, I get a ton of chances that do not go in. Most of their shots are way o/s the box. Exactly where I want them to be, but they go in as mine ring the post.

i managed to lose a game where the opposition didn't even got a shot on target! i had something between 10 and 15 on target and roughly 55% possession. Yet lose 2-0...an own goal and a shot that was going wide hit a defender on a 7 rating and went in.

solution: your players cant finish, you have to deal with it, its not a bug or anything, its just ur luck mixed with the quality of your team..

These things are common in football today, you play the attacking football, the other team plays defensive and counter attacking..think of manchester united's start to the season, they dominated portsmouth and reading but only managed draws, then an unexpected loss to man city
