Game gets rushed out not fully tested >> bugs appear >> people get upset >> patch gets rushed out to appease people >> more bugs appear >> another patch gets rushed out >> still more bugs >> FM2009 APPEARS!!
| Ackter,,, What exactly is wrong about that?? I think it's a fair reflection of what happens.
Maybe my last line is a bit naive and a bit dumb. Thinking we may get a bug free and top class product one day,,, silly me. |

He does have a right to an opinon though just because its differs from yours it doesnt mean it is wrong hence the term opinion not fact. Allow people to vent frustraitions from time to time instead of just simply saying your wrong because you dont have the same opinion as me. It just annoys people more that some people have no respect for other peoples be fair I am sure you wouldn't appreciate it if people told you were wrong just because you didn't follow their way of thinking.

Expecting any software to be "Bug free" is highly naive and a bit dumb, yes.
carlos - he's wrong because he's putting 2 + 2 together and getting "Cheese", not because his opinion differs from mine.

Ackter >> I respect your opinion as I respect anyones but I would like to know exactly what I have wrong with my comment in the chevrons?
The game was released not properly tested because if it had been there wouldn't have been as many bugs in it. Patches do get released to appease people and these patches do have issues themselves (many of which should have been corrected from the first time), and the next version of FM always appears before the previous version was corrected. The new version always has the same problems.
What have I actually incorrectly mentioned? If I am wrong take a look at the many posts on this forum that back up what I am saying.
People are criticised for having a pop at the game. Well with due respect the way to stop that criticism is to create a problem free game as you can. Of course you are not going to eradicate all bugs, but what abboys people is that 2007 was bug ridden and 2008 is just as bad. Lessons haven't been learnt that's why people are upset.

I like cheese
sorry hungry
Anyway back to the matter at hand maybe you think he's wrong but people can still voice an opinion you think the stuff in the chevrons is rubbish but I have seen plenty of threads where people would agree with Sussex Hammer so maybe he has a point a perfec game is impossible for a huge customer base but it does lead to some frustration I know I have had my share of omg I am going to kill a ref moment lol

I'm not criticising for having a pop at the game - I have plenty of them myselves. Difference is I do it in places that matter. All I've seen you do is post here in GQ, and usually in threads like this where you make posts like that.
You continuously blame the testing but seem to hold no grasp of how testing works.
FM does not get rushed out - at some point a line needs to be drawn where the game can be released. This line has to be drawn or the game would never get released.
On the year's delay siggestion - SI need money to exist. Taking an entire year out of their financial projections would lead to a lack of funds to make the game. Also during that year you can bet 100% that every other management game will releasean updated version. In order to compete SI must release a yearly game.
On top of that the majority of people expect a yearly game - the nature of the sport it simulates is yearly. There's simply no other viable way of doing it.

I accept your points, although where else would I be able to put a point across if not here?
The thing is we on these forums are aware of the difficulties. I have a friend who plays FM but he is not aware of the Forums. As he is unaware of "bugs" he said to me that FM2008 was an awful game. That's the way he saw it. No knowledge of bugs so he assumed that it was just a c*** game.
Whilst your points on SI needing finace to keep going by releasing a yearly game there is another side to that.
You need a satisfied fan base to achieve your financial goals and if the unsatisfied fan base on these forums and more importantly the thousands like my friend who just thinks it's a shoddy product take their alliegence somewhere else you have a financial problem anyway.
A difficult problem I grant you, but one that needs to be carefully considered.

You raise some proper issues with the game itself, but again you raise them here. The best place will always be the bugs forum for many reasons:
1. It's a forum that SI have set up with the express intent of receiving reports on problems with the game so that they can be documented and investigated.
2. The bugs forum is active with many of SI's testing team and development team.
3. There's a smaller percentage of rant threads that drown out the important threads.
As for your friend - he knew you. You were able to tell him what he needed to know. This will be the case for a hell of a lot of people (well, not specifically with you, but you know what I mean). Plenty of people will search the internet for information on games problems. Plenty of people will look through the manual which mentions these forums as a place to receive support for the game. SI have done as much as can be done to get the patch out there and available to everyone.
FM continues to sell incredibly well, sure people are disapointed but it's simply no different from any other FM release of recent history. The only thing that has changed is the attitudes of the people complaining, and the sheer number of people who don't show even the slightest signs of respect. Hopefully the Forums thread will lead to some changes that will make this a better place to take part in again.
