Here's a random observation and i'd love to receive feedback on it. It seems that year after year, all the usual suspects are always "GREAT", "AMAZING", "THE POO", etc, yet, i wonder, how is it that the Real managers don't look into them? Example, Ever Banega, Mika Aaritola, Breno, Rivera, Akinfeev, how is it that these players aren't playing in a higher level? I mean we all know about Aaritola, how come some EPL manager doesnt know?
Last year, a bunch of players i signed are now at better clubs, like Max Moralez, Vukcevic from Saturn to a BWin club, Guardado, and on and on, yet Akinfeev is still playing for CSKA, lol.
I'm friendly with a highup for a one time topflight Hungarian team, Fradi/Ferencvaros, and so many times i wanted to tell him about these guys, lol. Just gotta imagine that a friend of a friend of a friend of someones kid's roomates son of a EPL squad tells him about these guys.
K, random rambling while i wait for the patch to finish installing
Ever Banega and Andres Guardado were both wathced by Real Madrid. Guardado almost joined Everton this year but they decided to sign Leighton Baines instead.
Blue Lou, I knew about Guardado, not about Banega, but that was my point, like we here in the FM community all knew they rocked, and they were joined up with higher level squads. Go back to 06, someone published a list of great young players (in gamefaqs.com), and i'd say almost all of those players are now with high level teams, so whats the deal with Mika and Akinfeev? I for one love that these young players i found in 06/07 without using fm genie turned out to be so great, and i'm just wondering when Mika's time will come
mika's PA was overrated in the original database and has been fixed with the patch which suggests he is fairly average irl. Also you are very naive if you think that its only the fm researchers who know how good these players are, if that was the case they would all be scouts. i'm certain the best youngsters around the world are on the radar of the big clubs in europe long before they appear in fm.
in my opinion Mika Aaritalo isnt at the same level as Guardado or Banega. He is good, as far as i know one of the best under 20´s player Finland has. Still ithink he is more like Nicolas Millan or Assulin in fm07, when on the ather hand guardado would be more like Higuain and other staff. Aaritalo is just little overrated in fm08, i think he will be good player one year, and compared to finish standarts he is a star player, but i dont think he has what it takes to be worldclass midfielder or striker, Guardado has.
Akinfeev is injured, hence why he's not playing. He's a genius goalkeeper and has pledged his allegiance to CSKA over and over again - even after being linked to Arsenal.
Also, Blue Lou, Guardado snubbed Everton for Deportivo. As he did with PSV and Bayer Leverkusen. So don't give me that 'they decided'. It's all at the whims of the players.
Breno - possibly going to Bayern in January. Read the Tim Vickery column on the BBC more often, as he and Banega have both been mentioned loads of times.
May I also remind you boys that Aaritalo failed at Aston Villa earlier?
Wow, Celtic, what a post. C'mon, do you seriously think i live in a bubble, and think only the FM researchers know about the "good" young players? This thread is more a random ramble that i wanted to get people thoughts on. As i said earlier, i thought it was great how all this excellent young talent we tend to find, like guardado, moralez, etc, find their way to top tier clubs. I also was interested in how still at this point Akinfeev has yet to be picked up by another club.
This is little bit of topic, but if we are seriosly looking finish promised we should praise Dalla Valle instead of Ääritalo. Here in forums Aaritalo is just bubble that SI has created.
