Default Cannot Uninstall FM 2007, Need Help

Hi, I bought FM 2008, and have played it with the beta 1 and beta 2 patch, and now the official patch, but it is still the slowest FM game I have ever played (even when I shut down anti-virus and am not doing anything else with the computer but play FM 2008).

To free up disk space in hope of it running a little faster, I decided to uninstall FM 2007, which is the biggest program file on my computer.

But lo and behold, repeated attempts to do this have failed, and now I'm asking for help, because I do not want to have FM 2007 on my computer permanently. These are the error messages that appear when I try uninstalling FM 2007 -

-----------------------------------------------
No Java Runtime Environment (JRE) was found on this system.

A suitable JVM could not be found. Please select a JVM by selecting its java.exe file.
-----------------------------------------------

Now, I uninstalled every Java file I had, and installed Java again successfully (the latest version). That didn't work. i.e. JRE IS installed on my computer but FM 2007 tells me it isn't.

Before installing Java again though, I tried uninstalling without Java, as I had read a comment during my search for info on this problem, that FM 2007 contains its own Java which should work if it is not confused by other Java. Well, it didn't.

I also tried to use CCleaner to uninstall FM 2007 but the same error messages came up.

I have disabled anti-virus program, and tried, but nothing.

I would be grateful if someone at Sigames could explain why this is happening and how to uninstall, as promptly as is possible please. I will not take "just leave the file there" kindly. I do understand you are all very busy, but please make sure you don't forget about this issue.

Thank you.

P.S. The uninstall wizard (or whatever it's called) works fine on other programs. The problem is solely FM 2007 related.

Go to:

Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Change or Remove Programs -> Football Manager 2007.

You can uninstall it like that.

Joe, thanks, but that is what/how I've been trying...

(it's the only way I know how to uninstall, apart from using CCleaner to do it).

Right, tell me every step you've done to try and uninstall it.

Read my first post, and just add what you said to it, if it makes more sense that way. Because that is what I did.

I didn't bother mentioning Go To - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - Change/Remove, because I thought that was the only way to uninstall in the first place, if you know what I mean? :-)

I hope I do.

Have you tried putting the disk in, I think that starts the Install Wizard. You could do it from there.

E - mail me for further assistance if needs be.

I'm trying to find another way as I type.

If possible could send me a screenshot of your "Add/Remove Programs", the list of programs on your computer.

Thanks.
