Tottally agree with you. I had 5 chances of one-on-one and the keeper got all shot.
Frustating ;/

SI, please fix
So SI should produce a game that you can win 4-0 every game...then you will be happy....right?

creating chances does not mean putting them away.
you can create chances all the time but not necessarily put them away. your players may be taking loads of long shots or they lose it in front of goal.

Okay, let's hope this works...

These shots are from a FA Cup 3rd round match between a League 2 side and Prem side, albeit one that is in a relegation fight. The keeper is on the L2 side, the strikers are Prem.

6 is through to goal, shoots!

...but the keeper saves. Rebound! Looks like 19 will get onto it...

19 takes his shot ...

Saved! Another rebound...19's gonna try again...

Sure enough, he pokes it home... it's already past the keeper!

But no, Atkinson has springs in his boots and corals the ball on line line.

Three shots by strikers, inside the six yard box (granted, shots 2 and 3 were under some pressure), all saved somehow.

Yes, this is just one sequence, but it happens to me a fair amount of the time, and is representitive.

That fifth shot is actually still the fourth. This is the real one.
Sure enough, he pokes it hope...it's already past the keeper!

This happens to me alot. Keepers jump back and mangage to save it. Can you tell me how you take multiple screenshots like that at a time or did you keep going back to the replay 6 times?

I'm in team screen>fixtures>replay (click on the colon). Viewing the highlights, on the slowest settings, I pause the replay and hit "PrntScrn" at the 'right' moment. Paintshop Pro does the rest (clipping and resizing).

dola...Oh, and it not tactics, unless you're gonna say the AI is screwing up. I'm the L2 side ... (we won, 4-2)(!)

OK, got a lot of reactions on that one...

My point is, that I don't want 'SI to produce a game that you can win 4-0 every game', in fact I'm a huuuuuge fan of all the fm series... I just think that with this patch, they changed the way you play the AI so drastically, it's becoming too unrealistic! I'm very well aware that there is 'quality of shots' issue to be taken into consideration as well as a ton of other issues, but pre-patch things were different. I'm just talking about the obvious here. If you're playing as Barca for example, it's ok if you have trouble taking down a minor side one, or even two games in a row or a couple of more games if you play badly. The problem now in 8.01 seems to be that you can play beautiful football, dominate games, play one-touch football, create thousand of chances with the best players in the world (on high morale) and STILL not score! What do we need to do to win matches against poor opponents if not dominate completely and create many chances? It's kindda hard to change a tactic or formation that is actually working in respect of creating good chances and even one-on-ones...

Also I'm not saying that we can't beat the AI, it just doesn't seem right that when you're playing against Valencia, Real, AtlĂ©tico you line up offensively, and then you face Levante, AlmerĂ*a or Valladolid and you have to think 'oh, Now I have to play ultra-defensive to get a goal'... Pre-patch this wasn't the case. If we think this over, it seems sorta pathetic that Henry/Eto'o can't score when through on goal for the fifth time in X number of matches, while player x scores for the first time in history of club y on the first set-piece chance they get!

I still love the game and will probably find a way to cope with this problem, but right now it feels as if the match engine reminds me more and more of FM2007. It's much more smooth, no doubt about about that, but my initial opinion of the new match engine from the demo has changed a lot! I know there were many issues/bugs to be solved, but with every patch, with every bug-solution, it seems that it's not as intuitive as it began. Still, respect to SI for bringing us this great game... I'm just momentarily ****** off that I can't win against small opponents for the love of god!
