I have offloaded quite a few as well, I'm not getting any money for them, but hey a bid of 0 + some Monthly installments is still clearing out my wage budget.

This might sound a bit rough, put original post stated someone wanted to offload Berbatov for 15 million, I dont see any Champuinship, lower half premier or such being able to afford that.

And most top flight clubs would have better players.

I am in my 4th season at Tottenham Hotspur and I have had bids for Berbatov. Only in the first season though. I have upped his asking price to £30m and have been left alone. He has not set the world on fire though since 1st season. I think just like the real world clubs will only spend big money on players playing well. Don't transfer list him. Try offering him to clubs at your desired price. I can't imagine why that would be any different, since you're saying that he's no longer worth keeping in either case, but it might work.

Transfer listing a player in FM automatically means that you're willing to take a lot less money to sell him.

If you have better strikers I take it you aint playing him either so his price will drop and the AI knows you dont want him if he is listed too

no big wants a striker that cant get into his team and is transfer listed.
if he played and scored some goals maybe some clubs would be interested.

LOL I know what you mean - I wanted to sell Cameron Jerome and couldn't give him away (literally offered him for £0 and got no offers).

However, after a season of having him rot in the reserves, I managed to off-load him to Watford for £1m after 10 appearances - he is now rotting in there reserves after playing 8 times for them

I had the same problem. Couldn't give Joey Barton away around September time. Got to the January window, and even though he'd been in my reserves doing nothing, At. Madrid made an offer and I ended up selling him for £5m (although I am paying £25.5k of his wages until the end of his contract).

Selling players in FM08 is a breeze though, I've sold 40 players for a combined £194m in 3 years with Newcastle.

Berbatovs attitude & tantrums under Jol (whatever you may think of him) probably knocked £5-10m off his transfer value. I reckon Utd had a lucky escape not buying him, and it pains we to say that - I love nothing more than Sour Alex Ferguson blowing his budget on useless twxts.
