It does seem to me that it is unreasonably difficult to sell players. As West Ham manager, I've tried to offload plenty of reserve/unwanted players to trim the squad but never any takers. I usually have to wait until they are out of contract then I never get any money for them at all! In the real world players are sold very easily, especially those not in the first team, so why not in the FM world?

Just a minor irritation but still an irritation.

Seems to differ a lot I have WNT printed across half my first team and get bids reguratly. Maybe, just maybe you need your players to perform week in and week out to actually get money for them. Wouldnt that be shocking.

I bid £17m for Kader Keita and Lyon refused.

They then bid £11m for Karim El Mourabet(sp?) so I decided to play hardball and asked for £13.75m.

They came back with an offer of £12m + Keita

Of course I accepted but I felt cheap afterwards.

same here... end of the first season, and currently, Arteta, Lescott, Yobo, Cahill, Johnson, Yakubu and Vaughan are all "Wanted"...
AC Milan are literally trying to kick the door down to get to Arteta

I take the point about only getting bids for players "performing", but surely it should still be possible to offload reserve players to Championship clubs for example, much more easily than it currently is?

It's easy selling the players who are performing. I have Wnt across the board, prety uch. It's when you want to sell the the fringe players that's the problem.
