No one is getting on Ferrari2008's back it's just a very wild and misleading statement to say he has made every skin from fm07 work on the new game:

"i made 2007 skins work on FM08...!!!!!! Everything works perfect apart from those two new green windows that popup when you start the game...(when you choose league and team i mean...)"

Finding the "required_version" attribute and changing it to 8.0.0 isn't the amazing solution a lot of people are after for some new FM08 skins. There will be fairly major issues with the vast majority of skins and a lot of graphics and xml will need overhaulin - ie what happened with FM06 skins in FM07. It's being made out to be a revelation and might well be getting people's hopes up.

Better for people to know the truth than to be very disappointed when something doesn't work properly.

It doesn't stop me from playing, but it does limited the amount of time I play in a session.
I can only get through about 2 matches before my eyes are ready to jump out of my head.

I think several other people feel the same way.

Radestock: Well listen my friend i said in a post earlier what that comment implied ok? Learn to read the posts before commenting...I said that two skins only i tried and one works good.... I made a skin for 2008 which i combined elements from different skins i liked and everything works perfect allright....I played halfway through the season all good.... And i already said am new didnt i??? the only thing i cant fix is the main page before you start a game coz i dont know what to do in the xml files... In addition, the drop down menus in the game when you play (eg when you press manager or options or world) remain white coz i dont know how to change the colours of that...If these were fixed we would have a complete skin for 08 but none of you that you know your way around skinning is helping me all you do is moaning

At the end of the day, i already said i was no expert in this allright??!!!! im just trying to get us a skin to be able to play FAST until expert people on this matter release other ones...

Sir, that's just bulls***. You're here to brag and pretend something you aren't.

If you wanted to, like you said, '...get us a skin to be able to play FAST...', and knowing that you lacked the skill as you've stated, you'd have come more like:
'...Mates, I'm new here, I don't like too much the new skin so I happened to find out this 'trick', don't know if you knew about it...Here's what, more or less, I did. I changed a number on xxx file and ..., perhaps some of you who know more about skinning can pick up, ... bla., so that we can have a skin.'

As others have said, you could do this kind of thing in past version too, with different degrees of results.

You, as others come here to criticize the skin, a bug which doesn't stop you from playing, or a competition's/player's name which isn't correct, all or part of this 'preventing' you to begin playing, yet you risk losing a game you start by playing with a skin not made for this version (at least not made by the ones that know), good.

skin_name.xml -> Required Version, change to 8.0.0. not that hard.
