I started a game and then realised that Tranmere's kits are the wrong way around by default (away is gold, third is black, not the other way around). So I thought, rather than start again, I'll make an LNC file and shove it into the db/lnc directory for the database I'm using (I edited the database before playing but only to make Tranmere's biggest rival Bolton, as it is in real life - so there is a db/lnc directory already created by the game). The following is the entire code from that LNC file:
I've loaded up the save three times now (and yes I've deleted the cache files first), but the colours are still the wrong way around. Am I coding something wrong, or does the game no longer load up LNC colour changes?
I've done some more experimenting today and I CANNOT get colour changes to work.
I can change the names of competitions, but I cannot change their colours (or kit colours) using an LNC file. I've even tried starting new games; it never works.
Has "COLOUR_CHANGE" been removed from FM2008? If so, why?
The Colour_change command should still work (well it worked in the demo).
Doing it that way only affects new matches, not matches already played, does changing the home kit work for you? (The titlebar should also change colour).
The only reason why it wouldn't work is if the game was hardcoded to change the teams colours - i.e. if the text was unreadable.

Well I've changed all of the competition colours in an LNC, I press "continue" in my save game and they still don't work. I'm sure kits don't work either because Tranmere's third kit (which is a default kit in my save because of some kind of database/patch confliction) always stays gold on the information screen despite the fact I've changed it to all-black in the LNC file. Even if I'm starting a new game it's the same.
So it should be in My Docs/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/db/MYDBNAMEHERE/lnc, right?

I wonder what's going on... I mean it's picking up the competition names from the exact same file, so it's obviously being read properly. It's just skipping the colour information.
1301394 is the Champions League, 0 is because it's a competition and not a H/A/3rd kit, and that code SHOULD make the competition titlebar black with white writing.
It doesn't work for me, does it work for anyone here?
I've got that Champions League re-colouring working, but can't you change the colours of e.g. English Premier League, English Championship etc.? I know that they're "locked" in the editor from being colour-edited, but I thought you could get around that with an LNC file. Obviously not.
And I still can't get kit colour changes to work, but I've made a new database with the new kit colours in now, so I'm not too worried about that one now!
