In "Dealing with Set Pieces" in the Bible I see lots of discussion for how to set up effective Corners as the attacker, which is very useful info. But there is little detailed discussion of the other two set pieces -- throw-ins and free kicks. There is also no discussion about defense against Corners or Free Kicks.
THROW-INS - the options seem to relate to where players stand on the field. Should everyone just be left in default? Is there anyone in particular you should bring forward or instruct to come short?
CORNER DEFENSE - I understand "stay forward" but what effect will the other instructions have? What will selecting "man mark" do if you are normally using zonal marking? Who should be marking "tall" or "short" players? Who should be guarding the near and far posts? Who should be closing down (and what exactly does that mean in the context of a corner)?
FREE KICK (ATTACK) - Who and how many do you want disrupting the wall? I assume you want a strong header to challenge the GK. Who should stand back with the taker, if anyone?
FREE KICK (DEFENSE) - Who do you want forming the wall, and how many? Who should guard the near and far post? I assume the answer shares some principles in common with the Corner defense.
