I decided to conduct an experiment with my Naftex (Bulgaria Eastern B Group) team. Now this team is supposed to be the best outside the top division and I had Media Prediction 1st. I selected the 4-5-1 Attacking system and gave the RM and LM arrows to the striker and didn't change anything else.
Now my experiment had 2 parts:
Part 1. I selected my best 11 for that tactic and played 5 matches with it. The results were:
0-3 loss
0-1 loss
1-0 win
0-0 draw
1-2 loss
To sum up: 2 goals scored, 6 conceded, 1 win, 1 draw and 3 defeats.
Part 2. I selected the same 11 players from part 1 and went on holiday for a month with options checked: Use current match tactics and Use current team selection when available. There were 4 matches in that period. The results:
1-0 win
2-0 win
3-0 win
1-0 win
Total: 7 goals scored, 0 conceded, 4 wins.
I checked all these matches to see if my ass manager was using the samo tactics and players and he actually was.
I just would like you all, if you have the time and the desire, to try that. And possibly write back here to see if there is any logic in my thoughts that the AI using your tactic and the same players generally performs better than you.

same experience. Hit a bad patch of form, winless in 5 games, went on holiday, and won 8 matches in a row, with same tactics and players, including a 5-0 win over Liverpool.

Going on holiday seems a good solution to patchy form.

So it could be that your ass man has the ai to counter whatever it is that opposition managers do to screw your tactics up, I'm going to try this now along with a theory of my own - mirroring instructions once you hit a slide.

Well my approach of mirroring my team instructions worked for precisely one game, i then get spanked 3-0 in the next, i had 8 shots, 0 on target, celtic had 4 shots, 3 on target. Same old thing then. God DAMNIT!

Just now went on holiday with the originally successful tactic to see what happens - and the results are in:

A v Boro: 2-2
H v Getafe: 2-1
H v Newcastle: 3-0
A v Arsenal LC: 0-0
A v Leverkusen UC: 1-1
H v Aston Villa: 3-1
A v Liverpool: 1-2

Next step is to simply go on holiday for each match and see how the team does!
