For everyone who will be playing with Valencia in FM 2008 here's a short players guide.
They have an excellent team this year, lots of talented players covering all positions.

GK: Hildebrand (first choice) and Canizares
DR: Miguel (very solid right back. He's 28 but he's still at the top of his game)
DC: Albiol and Alexis (They are fantastic together in the center of deffence. You won't find a better young pair of talented deffenders in the game. Albiol become a world class player in 2-3 years and all the big teams are chasing him right at the beginning of the game and Alexis is a consistent performer also.). For Backup you have Marchena and Helguera, also very good players.
DL: Moretti( first choice - he has very good stats for a defender but he's an average player and he will not progress any futher) and Caneira as a backup. This side of the deffence is the only vulnerable part of the Valencia team.
MR: Joaquin (He's a GOD on the right side of midfield. His stats are fabulous even at the beginning of the game, he's like a spanish David Beckham in the prime of his career.I'm a a big fan of his playing abilities in FM and given the right instructions he's lethal providing crosses for strikers and his dribling is the key of his game.)
MC: Silva and Manuel Fernandes (my choice for 2 central midfielders. Silva is fabolous. He can play everywhere in the midfield, but his best position is AMC.Chelsea, Real Madrid and all the big teams are trying to get him even in the first season. For me, Silva is the best player in this Valencia team, yes even better than David Villa. HE is THAT GOOD. Manuel Fernandes is a young playmaker with good stats overall and I prefer him anytime over Albelda or Baraja.). For backup in the midfield we have Baraja (he's getting old), Albelda, Sunny (very young spanish defesnisve midfielder who becomes world class in few years) and Edu.
ML: Vicente (He's the king of left midfield. I know that Silva can play very good in this position also, but you should never keep Vicente on the bench to play Silva instead of him. When you have in midfield 3 sensational players like Joaquin, Silva and Vicente you should play all 3 of them at the same time. It is simple as that. For backup you have young Mata.
FC: Zigic and David Villa (for me this is the best patnership in attack in FM 2008. And you should try them to see how good they play together. Zigic is the best target man in the game, and David Villa is fantastic. He's a goal machine really.

My perfect Valencia team is this: Hildebrand - Miguel, Alexis, Albiol, Moretti - Joaquin, Silva, Manuel Fernandes, Vicente - Zigic, David Villa. The only thing I would change at this classic 4-4-2 will be only the left back.

What do you think of this Valencia team in FM 2008? Will you give it a try to see for yourself how good they areor not?

I am playing with them at the moment. Its a bit difficult because you cant accommodate Vicente, Silva, Villa, Joaquin and Zigic together. If you play a diamond, it leaves way too much space in the midfield and makes you defensively vulnerable.
Plus even Morientes wants a first team contract! So its a challenge just preparing your squad.
Yeah you are right about the left back, Valencia can do much better than Moretti.

only tried him once on 08 (he was again great) on my 07 games, i always picked him up and i agree. he is a goal scoring freak. air-ground, doesnt matter to him.

me and a few friends are playin la liga and I took Valencia, I sold Joaquim, Inter asked me how much I wanted and I threw out a £56m tag, and they took it, what was I supposed to do? No player is worth £56m!!!! ANYWHO I brought in Quaresma, Gail Clichy and Juninho Penambracuru (?) with the money and theve settled in nicely

Silva is overrated..he souldnt be a good as Kaka - Silva is even better in some stats, no idea why!?
