It's about realism.

When I'm starting a game that starts in June 2007, I prefer the realistic data just from that date.

Others might want to start every week a new game with player X just moved to club Y.

Both should be in the position to do just this - without using some tricks as backing up the original database, patching the game, replacing the new database with the backup one.

i don't agree with what Hairy Coo is saying, McClaren isn't England manager anymore so i sacked him, ok this didn't happen in July (the start date) but if you don't do it for then he may not get sacked come November, which in turn makes the game even more unrealistic......ffs petty arguing over the FACT a random nobody is getting appointed England manager, that isn't acceptable

If you'd actually bothered to read the post properly he means that the game will choose a manager who is jobless or a group or managers who are jobless and most likely english.

So at the time the original poster made his changes to the datebase the AI decided to chose someone who is availiable to the job.

It should have picked Jose Mourinho though personally.

Kris, does/can the game offer the job to AI Managers whose contract is near finishing with their current club? It would be a nice addition to the game. And would be nice to read in the News section.

That would be cool. I personally havent seen this in the game yet.

Chairman should be whoevers in charge of the FA if thats the case. Would be good to have a full functioning, indepth FA and FIFA.

If im honest i don't believe that it makes the game unrealistic players move clubs all the time, in fm its obviously going to be different you can't expect transfers/staff to go the same as real life.

Er... maybe pick a manager with reputation that's already employed? Maybe pick a manager that is unemployed but has some sort of reputation?

What are the odds of England picking a bloke at random to fill in the vacancy IRL?

I cannot believe I'm even discussing this, it's nonsense the way it works in the game.
