I think the amount of shots and 'easy chances' in FM is generally too high and should be toned town. At the same time finishing from the easy chances should be made easier.

Having looked at this more closely in the game, I think you are probably right. But then, the issue I suppose is that the games would be boring to watch. I find myself getting excited when my striker runs in on goal and then feel like smashing the machine to bits when he misses. But faced with boring half-chances or this type of excitement (albeit followed by disappointment), I know I'd rather have the excitement any day.
So, I suppose SI are between a rock and a hard place. The game's stats do reflect real life games, but if the good chances reflected real life games, the matches would be less exciting. So unless someone can work wonders somehow, I think I'd rather have it the way it is thanks.
