I've been a member a while now, but even before I added myself as a member, i'd frequent these pages.
Always interested in peoples thoughts, getting tips and having my own questions answered and so on.
I've really enjoyed coming here over the years and I still will I'm sure.
One sad thing I've noticed more and more of is the constant flaming of SI.
Generally, it's something along the lines of, "the games going back in it's box, or in the bin", and, "what a waste of money" and so on.
What is becoming so alarmingly obvious though, is that the not only do people feel they MUST open their own thread to express their disgust, even though on page 1 of this general discussion section, there must be at least 10 of the same thing, there is a very, very common theme.
That theme is simple, bad losers.
What would be so true is that is SI made an FM in which it was really easy to win and made the player believe they had created a 'god type' tactic, then a staggering number of threads wouldn't even see the light of day.
What is also obvious is the lack of attention to detail, time and effort people seem to be putting into their games.
It's taken me weeks of playing this version to finally come up with a generally good winning tactic which is solid at the back and great going forward.
I've tweaked and tweaked and I'm chuffed to bits that I've got the team playing how I want.
All the rest of the game is purely cosmetic for me.
Yes, there are bugs, and the closing down bug was an annoyance.
But if you were winning games, again, would there be so many complaints?
So, that's my point really. Losers.
Winners rarely complain. So, it's you losers who can't be arsed to put the effort in - or put alot of effort in, but just aint quite got the results YET.
Forget the bugs etc, the game is VERY playable and I think it's by far the best so far.
Why not look at your tactics, spend time tweaking, or go to the tactics section and read and read and read for tips.
Put the effort into your game instead of spending time opening new, pointless moaning ranting threads about how cack the game is, because you lost after having 15 shots to the oppositions 2.
Come on guys and gals, stop the nonesense and get back to being a manager.

People are mentioning the same thing DESPITE doing well, its not about people who cannot win a game, rather an obvious blatant issue that is ruining peoples enjoyment of the game.
Think about this before you start yet another thread on this matter?.

Interesting that you would reply to this as your alias is one I've seen numerous times ranting about the games failings.
I am certain that you wouldn't be posting as many rants if you were doing well in the game.

And before you claim to be one of the ones that moans and is doing well, this is a few lines you wrote very recently....

Actually the majority of the people on here flaming and complaining since the patch have provided little or no data at all to back up their complaints.
I think the biggest complaint left now is the shot ratio. Yet the thing is, I have yet to see a single post, showing specifically which players are taking the shots that are on target and how many they are scoring on average.
Showing one simple screenshot of 32 shots, 16 on target and only scoring 2, proves absolutely nothing! If your 16 shots on target were all by one-eyed bob and fernando torres and messi both failed to get any shots on target, there is a big difference than if all of those on target shots had fell to those strikers.
But as I said, the one consistent thing about many posters, is the complete lack of data they provide while complaining.
If you purchased a brand new car and every time you turned that car on it broke down wouldnt you be a little ****ed off? That is FM08 out of the box and really we should have all received refunds but we love the game and support SI and so we waited over a month for a patch which is reasonably good but there are still some massive bugs. The only people that wouldnt be complaining are those who are pirating the game. I payed good money for my game and so I can complain about how its full of bugs if I want.
tim_77 I really must disagree in the strongest terms.
I have been extremely critical of the game, (I'm reserving judgement on the recent patch for a while), and I believe I have made valid, articulate and informative posts to back up whatever statement has been made.
You would seem to suggest that my reasonaing behind this is that I am a bad loser and that I should look to myself, my tactics and the level of effort/detail I put into my game. I again must strongly disagree. I have been a participant in the dafuge challenge thread for a few years bow, and last year participated in the Gundo challenge thread. Despite playing saves for many seasons, I have never completed either challenge. This has in no way impacted on my enjoyment of the game, (and in fact my glorious failure with Lisburn Rangers in N.Ireland, was my most rewarding and enjoyable game of CM/FM ever).
So if we have clarified that, (in my case at least), it's not the failure that is the issue, (in fact I did a little better in the dafuge challenge with 08 compared to 07), and I can assure you that it is not the level of detail and effort that I put into my game, then it would possibly lend some weight to the argument that my critical and constructive posts have been both reasonable and valid.
I find it hugely ironic, that you use words such as "nonsense", make comments describing posters such as me as "bad losers" and suggest that we "stop this nonsense" in a completely new thread of it's own when many many many other users who have been happy with their own game have done so and numerous occasions. Does that not make you as guilty as the people you yourself are lambasting?
Do you not see that by dismissing the many many many valid posts, that have been critical of the game, and posted in a thoughtful and articulate manner, you are doing not only SI and the game, but yourself too and the rest of us, a very great disservice.
I may very well be a "carp manager", but that in no way excludes me from making posts about the relative frailties of the game in comparison to FM08. I would also suggest that the early release of the Beta patch, the effort put into the 8.01 patch, and the increased levels of feedback given over the last few weeks from SI would seem to indicate that the powers at be in SI agree with my sentiments wholeheartedly.
Tim, while I agree with you about the number of new threads opened unnecesarily (which in turn distorts the extent of the problems), calling people losers is just going to provoke them.
Somewhere in the mass hysteria and band wagon jumping are some valid points. The forum is not a great place to be right now, but prodding people with a stick is not going to help when both sides of the argument feel like they are in a position to take the high moral ground.

I think it is unfair to compare FM to a broken down car - FM is not stopping completely. If we have to do the car analogy thing, then it is more of a knocking noise that distracts you from driving.
What on earth's going on in this forum?
