Just about to start a new game with FM2008 and after looking in the preferences, I came across an area labelled 'extra files' which were called...

alliteration_adjectives
french league names
make_me_chairman
valid_takeovers_only

Does anyone know what these do if I untick them and start a new game?

also a section labelled "keep players data files" and a button labelled "team_holland"

If you have the patch, then

look in the programe files/sports interactive/football manager 2008/data/updates/udate_801/db/801/edt

or if version is 8.0.0

programe files/sports interactive/football manager 2008/data/db/800/edt

You will see the files, open with notepad. You can then edit then, useful for "make me chairman" where you can add someones name and they will appear in the game. (back-up these before editing)
