Default Uniersally UnHated Players in real life

now its impossible for a player to be liked by everyone, people like messi, cronaldo will inevtiably be dissed for reasons.

but what are some players who are not hated/admired everywhere? list examples and explain a little.

i'll start with scholes and bergkamp. scholes is just a no nonsense tireless midfielder, and its kinda hard to hate him. partly cos he stays very low profile, in fact one might argue that it is because of his low profile that he is unhated.

bergkamp had immense technique and he generally was a likeable guy who scored some of the most impressive goals ever. sheer admiration of his technique bypasses player biases for many fans that i know. they might have hated arsenal, but they respected bergkamp.

I'm sure plenty of people disagree on Paul Scholes, not least because he plays for the most hated team in the country!

I agree with Giggs and Bergkamp.I really hate Arsenal but Bergkamp is one of my all time favorites.A class act.

I'll add one myselfaolo Maldini. One of the most respected players of all time in my opinion.A legend in the true sense of the word.Do I really need to explain the reasons? We all know about his loyalty, clean game, low profile etc. He's played over 600 matches in Serie A and 126 times for the National team and he's still going.I'm not a Milan fan btw, but I would love to shake this guys hand.

Didn't he retire from international football long time ago now?

Anyways, to the original poster; "universally unhated", there's no such thing. I hate both Bergkampg and Scholsey so that proves my point.
(Just kidding, I don't. those are actually 2 cool chaps imo)

It might also be a cool idea to ask about who do you like or respect from yr most hated team, and who can't you stand from yr own club.
I would say I still can't warm up to C.Ronaldo even though of course he has been great for Man Utd of course. Then there's Tevez, who despite being an argie I find quite likeable as well as entertaining, I mean just check out the way my boy busts a move in this video.
"Bust a move: Carlitos style"
Just gotta love the guy!

Giggs. He's been a world class player for years and never causes any trouble on or off the pitch. He just gets on with his game week in an week out.
