I'm about given up on it now, and I've not even finished a season.
I started off unemployed, as I prefer to do, and got the job as Farsley manager, spent the best part of an hour looking and signing the best freebies I could find. I managed to get Man Utd as a parent club - they sent me Heaton (gk) and Eckersley (lb), two players far too good for the Conference. I signed 4 top players on loan. By February I had a more than good enough team, managed to reach the FA Cup 3rd round where I got drawn against Arsenal, losing 7-0. but in the league I'm sitting 14th, waste of time really. I'm not one of those people expecting to walk the league, but the least I expect is a playoff spot after building a good squad of players.
I just feel the game is far too complicated now. I have tried to get the hang of these tactics but it's just not to be. I find myself in the tactics and training section, downloading other peoples tactics, winning a couple of games then losing a couple again against weaker teams at the bottom of the league. Those wins don't mean anything though cause I feel that I'm cheating.
I played as AFC Wimbledon after a one year holiday to let them get called up and won the BSS with three loaners from Crystal Palace. The box should say "Results may vary".
I've got Fabien Brandy on loan FFS, and still lost 2-0 against Woking who were 17th who managed 3 shots on target to my 13. It's not about building a squad of players anymore, the only thing that matters is tactics, and it's the most complicated part, so sad what has happened to this game.
i completly agree when i was a young lad i remember playing the old championship managers for hours buiding teams from nothing you get a tactic that works you stick with it, now i feel as though you've got to chop and change all the time but i suppose that's what real managers do and we all just want it easy?

Bingo! You hit the nail o nthe head. That is what most of these complaints come down to - people not winning just because they think they should.
