I do not care about who made the skins, all I care about is to get a new skin. THAT is what I like about ferrari, he wants to make a temporary skin until others make a 100% working skin including the main page. Besides the fact that the original FM08 skin hurts my eyes I Do not really like the design. The skin ferrari has made looks a lot better, and I do not really care if the main page is "out" neither, because I can unload the original skin when I have loaded my save game, and then unload the skin when I exit the game leaving it with the orignial skin on next start-up..


That is what is running through my mind when thinking of this new skin, and bear in mind that ferrari says in one of his previous threads that he also sees it as a temporary solution until new 100% functionable skins are available </BLOCKQUOTE>

If you want to bugger up your game, Go right ahead. His skins don't work with fm08 properly as Ter has said on numerous occassions on this very forum and by now Ter is most likely sick to the back teeth repeating himself. But remember someone took a lot of time and effort and it wo8ld be nice if this so called skin maker took the time to ask these people was it ok for him to do this.

1. You talk like my game will f*** up for sure if I use the skin, but you do not know yet, you do not know exactly what ferarri has done to make it work on 08. It could be anything..

2. If you need permission to "take" some of the design from an other skin, then you would need permission to even thinking about making a new skin because there are so many skins available already. And I doubt that the "skinners" have BOUGHT copyright to their skins, it is very expensive to buy copyright. And as long as there is no copyright, anyone may freely use the design, says the law, but I guess you knew that anyway I think it is a f***ed up law, because you actually can steel designs or ideas from others who have spent hours/days/weeks or maybe even months on getting the ideas to work, but that is the way it is, sorry to say mate, but in this case you will lose..

So.... am i right in saying that 'ferrai2008' hasnt really made any new skins for fm08, just b'stadised some fm07 skins so that they work for fm08?

No i only did one skin by taking features from different skins and i created my own...And as for Frankie 7 YOU ARE WRONG my friend i played 5 seasons with R.Madrid no problems....You keep all insisting it doesnt work and stuff but you havent got any proof for it I do.....As for this stealing bull**** i already commented on it....And you know what....in order for it to be plagiarised it has to be copyrighted and published under a registered trademark including all the relevant provisions....Unlucky for you i am a law student at UCL and i know better than anyone whether its theft or not...And what do you think if it was copyrighted would this people have given you this skins in the past for free???And since i know the relevant law provisions would you think i would even dare posting screenshots since i know in depth how the law works myself??? And at the end of the day 'plagiarism' do you even know what it involves???? It involves taking ONE authors published and COPYRIGHTED work and posing it as your own...In this case however i could actually release the skin WITHOUT permission by anybody and i could just thank certain people for certain features....I dont the way you people say it, if somebody used a green backround or a clear GUI for the game then everybody else plagiarised by doing the same thing even if everything else in the skin was different...So get your facts straight because i could actually release this and if i go and get permission that would be out of good will not because i am obliged to do it...They dont belong to anyone since you do not accept an agreement to use any since they are not copyrighted thus you dont enter into a contract with the provider of any skin...Thus you are allowed to do whatever you want, you can even go and copyright his exact own work and make money out of it...

And bear in mind that you Frankie that you attack me probably because you support or are friends with the creator of RS-5...WELL THEN mr.Lawyer, why dont you go and tell HIM that HE was the one who plagiarised mainly because he copied a COPYRIGHTED layout that being the Windows Vista Interface (progress bar,glass look etc)....Who did HE get permission from..??

Be clever and know what you are talking about and who you are dealing with before you open your mouth....Talk with your brain not with your heart....

And for those who still insist its buggy, dont say that coz i played 5 seasons without any constraints at all...In order to say its bad,you have to talk with proof...

What the hell are you people talking about? Lawyers? Copyright fees?

Nobody's making skins to make money, but there is such a thing as professional courtesy, and that means asking for permission before using someone else's work. And it means giving thanks for those who grant you that permission. And it means being generally nice to everyone, not trying to get on everyone's bad side.

I don't know if Ferrari2008's skins work, I haven't tried them as I don't really like them. But I know I dislike his approach, he basically stormed in and started shouting "look people, I'm amazing!" and when others told him to cool it and take a more subtle approach he started several threads complaining about it.

Dude, it's cool that you're making an effort to bring some (sorely needed) skins to the people, but take it easy, OK? Make a skin, post it in a topic with the name of the skin clearly stated, and above all BE HUMBLE. You're NOT as awesome as you think you are, and your approach won't impress anyone (at least not anyone who matters). I see your later posts are much humbler than the first ones, so you're moving in the right direction.

If you edit someone else's skins, clearly state who the author is and at least make an excuse why you haven't asked for permission, like "I wanted to make it available ASAP" or something.

Keep up the good work, fiddling with other skins will certainly teach you something about how they're made, and when the proper tools are released you will probably be able to make a skin of your own.
Maybe a Ferrari-themed one, even?
