I know there are zillions of tutorials on making burning texts and logos out there but the ones I found allways make things burn on a black (or dark) background using the wind effect.
Now, if I am right wind takes the brighter pixels and blow them into the darker ones. If you have a white background and black text the wind effect isn't working, couse it will give the effect of a burning background. The idea of using the wind effect is to make the flames come out of the text NOT go into it, right?
So, do you fellow photoshopers have any ideas how to make a borning logo, text etc on a bright background? I have tried but it's not 100%. Any ideas?
Simply invert (Ctrl/Command + I) the white on black image after applying the wind & blurring effect. However, to get the actual flame colour in the image might take some steps that differ from the original methods. I used a yellow & orange gradient fill.
For lighter backgrounds one probably needs to add smoke for it to be more true to life (as you did).
