crucifix 08 tactic - efficient and effective, high scoring tactic
just thought I would post my tactic as i am getting some quite good results with it although admitadely with man utd as I haven't tested it any further yet, but i will let you judge it for yourself.
The principles are relatively straightforward and focus up transition play and adaptable players. The tactic tries to find an acceptable balance between defence and attack and make the transition from one to the other as quick and effective as possible.
3 central defenders are used with the left and right placed dc's with arrows to the full back position. In front of them is a dmc with an barrow to the dc position. All of these players are defensive in attitude and rarely if ever make runs forward instead active as a platform from which play starts. The dmc acts as a bridge between defence and midfield effectively transfering play to the more creative players.
There are no designated full backs, only two wide midfielders who run the lines. The logic behind this is that the wide midfielders will mark the opposing midfielders with the dc's picking up any opposing player who breach the midfield line, they are in turn covered by the central dc and the dmc. This renders the full back position defunct.
A single central midfielder balances defence and attack and transfers play to an AMC and the forwards. His settings are normal but with high closing down and through balls.
The AMC has an farrow to the centre forward position and should be equally adept at playing in a forward position with good shooting as well as the usual skills associated with their position. They are also given a free role and high creative freedom.
The forwards are not set as target men and should be capable of linking play as well as scoring as they frequently move into wider positions and sometimes come a little deeper if the amc has moved further forward.
I prefer to use players who are adept at more than one position as this makes the tactic even more effective i.e a DMC who can also play DC and an AMC who can also play FC
I hope this makes sense and doesn't sound to complicated. It is essentially about cutting down on uneccessary work and getting from one end of the pitch to the other in the most efficient way.
Below are some images and a link to download the tactic. Hope it works for you aswell I would be very interested in any feedback
I have created individual training schedules for DC, DMC, MC, AMC, MRL and FC which I can post for you later today. Each schedule is as high as it can on workload without becoming heavy and focus on the skills needed. The defenders and dmc spend little or no time on attacking and vice versa with the amc and FC. The most interesting is probably the wide players who perhaps unusually are as focussed on defending as they are attacking. The MC has similar focus.
Aerobic is around medium with strength higher for DC's DMC and MC but lower for the others.
I will try and post them later

No problem, I'm glad someone else is having success with it.
To test it a bit further within the same game I have just taken control of Wigan aswell who are bottom of the league. First game we beat Derby 4-0 so hopefully this is a good sign and the tactic will be as successful with smaller teams not just Man utd.
