It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Well I have been thinking and using your ideas of logic and have decidd to start managing in the Blue square north with my local team.

I know it doesnt sound much but in my first friendly the team did everything i imagined and I won over our fierce rivals.

It might just be a friendly but hey I won..

The tactic is a 4-1-3-2 with one striker providing link up play by dropping back into midfield with one goal poacher.

Thanks Rash I will be following evrything you do and will look at this thread very regularily.

I have got to say that rashidi1 knows what he is doing with tactics and that, and he is teaching us how to do it.

Keep up the good work mate.

Your game is looking good Rashidi

Do you use opposition instructions? I'm always caught in two minds, wondering whether to use them or not.

Actually, I haven't had to, its something I would do if I was playing a side which has a lot for me worry about.

Just setting up an 'Test' game to configure my Pre-Season Schedule. You know you speak about your personal training? Just for one specific player, do you base this on the stats they are lacking on? or the ones you want them to have?

If a player has a specific role I'd like him to play, there are some attributes I'd like to see him have. If he is not developing as well as I expect I put him on a specific schedule that is targetted at those attributes.

Cambridge Update

I've forgotten how difficult it is to manage squad fitness in the conference league. Cambridge are still in all competitions. We've just played the quarters of the Setanta Shield and are in the 4th Round of the FA Trophy

Fixture Congestion

My key players at the club including my hotshot kid from W.Ham are now having to start games at 85% fitness levels, which is not good. I've had to depend on them to get me off to good starts. In some of the last few matches I've had to field defenders in midfield. Needing to rotate my strikers I've had to throw in a 451 tactic which employs 2AMs and 1 solo striker upfront.

The tactic was used against Woking in the FA Trophy for the first time..I scored within the first half hour, even with 2 goals we had a shocking 36% possession.

Total shots for both teams were just about right..when I looked at the Action Zones I realised that was happening because of a wrong setup in midfield.

I realised then that the midfielders had all been given attacking mentalities and that they were on one slider with the forward. I dropped the whole group to normal..dead centre...and reduced the central mid to defensive. We managed to wrest back some control. We created good chances I just need to remember what I did wrong and not repeat it.

I know it sounds good but I honestly think that i created this solid tactic out of pure fluke I have been trying to create an attacking tactic after getting some great results.

But I just cant do it everytime i get run down and draw or lose it must have been just pure fluke with my first tactic and the logic just isnt working when i want to go attacking.
