Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Rashidi Ephraim should be fine upfront? He not performing for you? But trust me, it's not the quality which is affecting your scoring, it's the tactic. As I said I had a test game with Arsenal and exactly the same problem occurred.

I was wondering if you could discuss your fitness training? Being a boxing coach, I rely heavily on fitness and this translates into my games and teams. I set one up for MK Dons and the players were not happy with the fitness training. I had aerobics and strength set to full and tactics a little bit up? Would appreciate it if you shed some light into your fitness-based training?

I've decided to place tactics inside this project, it will contain all my tactics as I create them. I will update this thread, so I don't clog up the site with multiple threads.

FFM Tactics
FFM - pkms of tactics can be found here.

The latest tactic to be uploaded is RYDemonsEyE. Seasons Used 3: Teams: Blackpool, Liverpool, W.Ham and Cambridge In match against Stevenage we dominated proceedings with a 3-1 win.

The tactic is a simple 4132.

RYDemonsEyE

Basically its again about dominating proceedings keeping possession, building play and penetrating from the flanks and through the middle. It's defaulted to counterattacking and offsides on, I usually remove counters. I haven't really tweaked the tactic in play, generally speaking, what is usually done to control play is to adjust the mentality slider which only affects 3 players.

The rest of the players are on individual mentalities. The passing style of this formation is predominantly short, with minor variations.

I've been using this tactic for LLM sides as well and it was one of the first few tactics I created for the game.

Defense
The defensive group includes the 4 at the back and the DMC, all important players, the DM is the most important. A high workrate is important. They have been set on either defensive or normal mentalities. A normal mentality keeps a player neutral ie. he defends and attacks

In midfield, the central midfielder is very important. There are no holding instructions in midfield because I DO NOT WANT them to waste time holding the ball. LLM football is suicidal if you do not have the right players doing HUB.

The central midfielder will be important, if he has dribbling, passing and decisions as well as finishing and composure, he may become too much for any defense to handle. He's flanked by 2 hardworking midfielders who are expected to defend attack and cross. Mentalities here range from normal to slider attacking. The slider affects 3 players including one forward.

Forwards.. One player with strength here to hold up the ball for the late arriving MC and this option also allows your team to change the pace of play which HUB does help to influence.

Tactical Tweaks
Tactical tweaks are the usual ones:
1. Drop mentality to defend
2. Use width to go more attacking
3. Use tempo to slow down play against stubborn teams along with increasing width.

Enjoy more to come and I'll update this thread..may even change the header to incorporate this thread having more than 1 tactics

Pkm of the match : Can be found here

Ephraim is scoring a goal a game...I just want him to score more than two goals. I'm happy with the scoring rate right now..the team has got good morale now and they are banging the goals in.

I have a schedule for getting my players fit for a season...its covered in another thread in this forum..it has a fitness schedule within. Simply...i have an intensive preseason, and then when the season proper starts I drop aerobics slightly and maintain it at medium but strength is higher.

Are you getting a lot of chances inside the box. I get around 70% of chances from the penalty area alone. So I'm wondering if you are getting the same.

I think this is the thread you mean Rashidi Official Conditioning and Fitness Problems related thread.

Also, would you be able to post any replays up to go along with your LLM story? I think it would help alot in fleshing out the text you write so we can all see what your seeing.

Yes around 70% of my shots are constituted from inside the box. Although the game I have just set up I have only just played one league game(MK Dons.)

The next game is against a poor team so I will play round with my attacking unit. I'm using an 4-1-3-2 so I have a big percentage of men up there. Will keep you updated!

RYMagyarsFM2008

Made some small changes to the tactic, changed some of the passing and mentality settings. I kind of like the movement in this tactic and am loath to go create more.

The tactic features some really attacking play from the wings and variety with the buildup through the middle.
