I am using zonal marking with Man Utd, but i have also tried man marking.

I have noticed that a striker/forward runs behind my backline 4-5 times a game, with both my defenders not tracking him at all. It seems that they even end up defending in the same area.

Can any one help?

I had it on deep, but even on normal its the same.

Im starting to get annoyed with the game now. I tell Van der saar to not kick, but throw to ferdinand. he kicked it down field 20 times during the match with Chelsea.

Told nani no long shots, but he had 9 outside the box attempts...lol

I havehad the problem with the goalkeeper distribution too. It really messes up a short passing game where ypou try to dominate posession.

As for the long shots, try reducing his creative freedom a little. He might be spotting a chance to shoot so overiding your no long shots instruction. Just for reference, long shots is listed as speculative shots from 20 yards or more in the instruction book.

I have now give up on this game.

Standard 4-4-2. Short passing, just over the normal mark attacking wise. all 4 defenders defensive, whole team little freedom.....

No matter how bad my tactics can be, it should have no effect on how rooney can't score from 6 yards 10 times in one match.

Liverpool just beat me 6-0 at old traffod.

Unrelistic.
