Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default passing to flanks and playmaker

I need some clarification pls. Is it sensible to assign a playmaker who is a central attacking mid and set my passing down the both the flanks?
Will the team will distribute the ball to my playmaker or to the flank?

wooo good question, i set my tactics up like that and ive never thought about it. Love to hear the responce.

Having thought about it i would say that they would pley the ball out to the flanks, but they do seem to conflict with each other which could be why i dont get the results i want ummmm

I believe you could control this by the setting of your players passing instructions. Both instructions gives your players guidelines on where to pass the ball.

So if you passing to the players close to the Playmaker to short, this might guide their passes onto him instead of down the flank, as this choiche is a better match to their individual passing instruction. Whilst a player with longer passing would maybe pass down the flank as this is more equilent with their individual passing instructions.

maybe the team will do one of 2 things pass down flanks and through your playmaker in which case you might as well not have it set to down flanks but on the other hand it could go to your playmaker in the middle and he keeps passing it out wide to his left and right which would be great. just depends which way fm makes it happen
