Hi guys,

I'm facing an annoying problem with FM2008. I installed a simple FM Patch and the game refuses to launch ever since. Actually, FM simply freezes after the "War Child" screen and all that remains is a black screen. When i try to close the screen, a message pops up:

"Cannot find font resource: vera"

I don't really know what to do right now. I already deleted the patch and re-installed the game a couple of times, but it didn't help. Does any of you know how to handle this strange problem? Does it have anything to do with my FM skins? Seems like i'm missing a small file or something!

if you have custom skins in your My Documents/Sports Interactive folder, try removing them and restarting?

Just install the vera fonts to your windows/fonts folder should cure it:

http://www.december14.net/bin/VeraFamily.zip

(only need the 'vera.ttf' from that zip)

Thanks for the help lads. I actually have Windows XP, but i'll try (re-)installing te Vera fonts.

Too bad! Unzipped the Vera Family zip and put the Vera.ttf file in my Windows/Fonts folder, but nothing changes. Maybe need the other Vera files from the 'family' as well?

Same problem here, seems like nobody can answer the question of what to do. Been all over the net and can't find any help. Sad
