Hi

Since buying the game, people will have had various start ups and I'm interested in what their favourite save games have been in FMO8.

I have gotten bored with my Djurgarden save game which was very enjoyable. Considerable transfer money is injected into Sweden and boards are very allocating of the profits.

Aston Villa has been my other save game that I have settled in with. Good setup, fantastic resources too. I was surprised that top notch players would readily sign too.

These are the two save games I have had most enjoyment out of playing so far. I'm ready to start a new one off, just seeing what teams provide great fun to manage except the obvious Chelsea, Barca etc...

I realise skill and results make a game enjoyable, but I'm referring to setups and potential. Thanks!

Well to me playing the likes of 'chelski and barca et al is not enjoyable, too easy imo.

My fave save game so far on FM08 has been with Baltike in the Russian First Division, no money, no expectations and no good players lol.

So far into my fourth season, I'm still stuck in the First Division but at least now for the first time top of table by 10 points

Whether I finish there in another 18 games remains to be seen but its all very enjoyable all the same.

If you like that sort of game, then go for Gefle IF in Sweden. Allsvenskan is great fun, very different to Russia, you may like the difference in timescale of the Swedish season, with European games played at the end of Swedish season. You can really concentrate on upcoming fixtures.

I have managed to take Djurgarden into successive Champions League group stages. The story ends there! League wins, cup... Royal League...

But Gefle, go for it. They are quite unfashionable and low key, modest resources and small stadium, lovely area though, nice ground. Tiny though. Key man will be Oremo up front.

I have never once started a Russian league... maybe but not this time.

I don't think I've had one. I've not liked it at all so far. I might consider goign back to 07.

typical - the week the patch is released I am sitting pretty on top of the championship in Feb 1st season with QPR....I only signed 3 players - drawn lots but went on a 16 match unbeaten streak...

Lol Russia wasnt through choice I'll tell ya hehe. Started unemployed until the patch was released...only offer I got was from them...funny...enjoying it so much though still going to carry on with the game even though I've now patched.

Certainly an interesting experience...

I'm enjoying my Brighton game that I started when I got the game. Got promoted first season just to get thrown back down the next. Sitting top half the ongoing season and seem to have a decent form on the team. Struggling with the economy as I await the new stadium to be finished.

And have a soft spot for them now!

Got promoted from the BSN at the first attempt, no idea how it happened, I hit a run of form in december and it took me all the way and I was promoted!

Then the form carried on into the new season, with a few better quality signings and a slightly bigger squad, got Arsenal in the cup (which saw £1.3m in the bank!) and then was given a transfer budget extension of 75k!!!! And ended up getting promoted again after a fierce battle with York!!

So am in league two, bank balance looks fantastic, have used all funds to extend wage budget and have got a few decent players in and am currently sitting 5th in League 2!

Really enjoying it :-)
