I am managing QUB in NI league 2. Most of my first team have wages between £5 and £20. I have approached to sign a number of youngsters from teams which are in the same league. I make an offer of £0 because they have no valuation it is accepted but when I offer them a contract the players are asking crazy money in the region of £100-170.
Also all of my U18's are on pre contract deals which come into affect when they are 17 of £55 - I have tried to offer lower wage contracts they don’t want a bar of it, and no other team will make offers for them because basically their rubbish! Termination of these deals will cost £8k in compensation!
Seems like all these youngsters in football are pre-Madonna’s who think they will be rich and famous earning mega money like Ronaldo and Terry…isn’t gunner happen kids!
Any ideas or similar experiences? Not saying this is a bug... but it’s certainly bugging me!

Whilst most certainly very annoying (I have a similar problem in my russian game) it also certainly makes things true to life doesnt it?
All players are interested in these days is money, cars, good looking women and shopping...wanting to play for the sake of it has left the game forever.

i had a similiar problem in hong kong
basically the ask for more because they dont really wanna a leave and you clubs rep aint high enough for them to come under normal terms (e.g its lower than there current club)
only way i found around this was taking players who where either late 30s or without a club 18-20
any other catergory wants to much money (well for lower league clubs)
hope that helps if not... hold em at gun point works at qpr

Bit silly they are on that automatically when first teamers are on 10% of that though, surely.

that was pretty much my point. first team players are on 10% of what the U18's are on... doesnt seem to matter when offering them a contract. the first teamers pretty much all accept £10 to sign a new deal.

I thought this post was going to be about a 16 year old demanding a new contract or something. I come in here and see that they want CRAZY money like £100!
What are the players on at their other club? It may just be a way to say, I don't want to join you, unless you can pay me a wage I can live off. They may see it as a waste of time going to another team in the same league. Just guessing, putting forward ideas. No idea if they are right :p
