I have read alot about the game "not being playable" until the patch was released, but in my case it has turned out to be the other way around. I have been enjoying the game (certainly with some flaws that could be fixed) until I decided to download and install the gorgeous 8.0.1 patch.

The scenario. Real Madrid. Tuesday 13th November 2007. Twelve league matches played (9-1-2 and 1st in the table). Let me point out that my assistant manager warned me at the beginning of the season to sign one or two players for the midfield just in case we had to replace any injured players in that position (I thought Diarra, Gago, Guti, Baptista... plus players from the B team, good enough).

And now the facts: Gago, injured during match in game one, three months. Diarra, injured during match in game three, one month. Baptista, injured playing for Brazil, four months. Guti, injured during match 6, 3 weeks. Diarra, recovers from injury, condition 97%, plays from the beginning in the forthcoming match and doesn't even make it to the halftime, another month. Robben, Higuain and Raul partially injured during a match, Raul gets three weeks. At one point, Real Madrid has 6 injured players that play similar positions (Diarra, Gago, Guti, Baptista, Raul and Higuain). As I started to see "greyed-out" players starting to fill up my squad, I decided to bring players from my B team (i.e. reserve squad) to cover up for those injured and to my surprise I learn that they cannot play because they are not registered in any of my squads... guess how many players have been registered in my B and C teams... that's right, none. Not that I forgot (because if I did the game won't let me continue without picking the minimum 16 players required), but they have been automatically unregistered when the registration window closed in September 1st.

Now this is what I call a challenge. I wonder if moaners will define this as unplayable.

Even though, best game around.

Im still getting a lot of long shots and a high amiut of shots on target in comparison to a low number of goals scored.

Tell me about it. I was thoroughly enjoying my pre-patch game. 2nd season with liverpool. 32 games played and i've already won the leage. Then i installed the patch. Have had 4 1-0 games in a row. All won by me, but it seems impossible to score. The goalies are all amazing all of a sudden. It's not my tactics since i've scored 84 goals in 32 matches so that's not the problem. What worries me more than that is the fact that my players form has gone to hell. I like to rotate players and they struggle to get 95% after resting a whole game. any help ?

Ps. closing down is a lot better though!

Your last statement of "closing down is a lot better" maybe that's why it's harder to score goals? Think about it.

Thought about it.What you say makes sense. I do agree that it has gotten better because i've seen both my players and ai playing defense better. However, i don't score goals when i'm getting 25-30 shots a game and 4 out of 5 matches in a row the opposing gk gets MOM and puts on a bloody clinic. That has nothing to do with the closing down.

I got three more injured players in the following two games after writing the post. Also, the teams I was playing against also got their share or injured players. Am I the only one getting so many injured players during match? What about the B and C players, anyone else got them unregistered after the window closed?

i have also got many injured players. Ive now played 5 games after patch, and in 3 games of those i have had 4 players injured month or more and 3 players injured week or more. i think that might be little unrealistic. atleast if that continues.
