hi all, i downloaded the patch fine for my pc, on my mac it even says 'software sucessfully installed' but when i load up the game it is sill version 8.00, any ideas?

It works fine on my mac.

Try to download and install it again.

still doing the same thing, i totally uninstalled both the patch and game, it downloads its, then installs successfully. but if i go into the si folder there is nothing indicating that it has been installed wtf is going on

It does replace the game file, so just load the game and go into "option - game status" - it will show you 8.01 and a number.

i appreciate you helping me out friend, but when i start a new game it just loads the 8.0 database, so somehow its not working, and im getting rather frustrated.

I guess the database number is still the same.

The patch number is not for the database its for the game.

Just create the game and see what number it is when you go to the game staus screen.

go to start a new game and if it says load 8.0.1 database then the patch is installed.

Strange. Fine here too. Try this... install the patch again. This time, choose the destination folder and select the FM 08 folder in applications (I presume that's where it is at the moment?

You could also try setting up a clean account and call it 'FMtest' then install the game and then the patch and see if that works.
