I don't know what it is but for some reason i have never been able to play against Arsenal. I'm southampton so not expecting to beat them every time but i would like to compete.

I've managed to compete faily successfully with the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, and never lost to Chelsea but Arsenal have always eluded me.

Does anyone have any tips as to how to play against them?, whats the best formation to stifle their passing game?

maybe you shud try five across the middle and try to play hard tackling might work. also note i have never managed to beat them either they play quick short and it seems like all their players run up to try and score.

Funny thing is I can't seem to win AS Arsenal. I can do perfectly well at any of the other teams I try but I haven't been successful at Arsenal since CM 01/02...and even then it was a bit of a rollercoaster ride.

be yourselves, and have a heroic goalie, i've just beaten them 3-0 in the league cup quarter finals as a newly promoted into the prem Ipswich (in autumn 2010). I can't remember which formation I was playing, the 4-4-2 with wingers, or the 4-4-2 with wingers and defensive midfielder, however I use one at home and one away so it was whatever would be normal for such a match.

Close down on Fabregas, seems to help me.

Don't close down heavily, they will find space and burn you. Also have at least one relatively fast anchorman on hard tackling.

Since the patch came out Ive finally started to hit form with the Gunners. The match engine is fixed now so my passes are finding my players and wide men are crossing in better.

Cut off the supply to the strikers.

When I play against arsenal I usually have tight marking on cesc and close down the wingers.
