If all the AMCs are automatically made to be MCs, why bother having MC as a separate position?

Well, many players are still MCs without being AMC. So that is not a problem. It just seems the other way around doesn't happen.

Pondus - sorry, I understand your point and indeed your examples are more extreme (Tevez, Raul, etc) and therefore highlight this issue to a greater degree.

With the current match engine (because of the accomplished MC tag) you could play Tevez as a KEY MC and he would get great ratings and do well in the current game engine (IMHO) when in reality he would be kicked off the park and outjumped for every ball !!

This is definitely something that appears to be more noticeable in fm08 than fm07,06... from my playing experience now.

I could accept most AMCs being considered decent MCs, but for it to be hard coded to be automatic is a bit over the top in my opinion.
