schuey, when i double clicked on the .pkg file it says "there is no default application specified to open the document FM2008 v8.0.1 Patch.pkg" then it gives me the option to cancel or choose application

That's very very strange. Erm...

How large is the DMG? Is it 101.9mb? It really shouldn't be doing that even if the file is corrupt. Did you download from a torrent or direct from the server? You could try and download it again but the pkg should be recognised even if it is corrupt.

Download the file, it's pretty small. Open the DMG and see if you can run the pkg. If so then there's something wrong with the FM download. Again, you could try downloading it again.
