Adu is nowhere near a -10. Maybe if the attribute was hype not potential ability. He never made an impact in the MLS. He couldn't do anything on a good DC United team and Real Salt Lake played poor with and without him. I have no idea why Benfica bought him when they did, he hasn't shown any potential on the field only in the media. The 18 year old Jozy Altidore will become a much better player then Adu in the future. Jozy's Bio
I don't know much about Kérlon but I would definitely give him a -10, if he was a seal.

You're completely right, Guilherme is better than Kerlon. Kerlon is skilful, but he is too injury prone, which is a constant problem for him. Guilherme is a first teamer already at Cruzeiro, while Kerlon hasn't been able to get a place there. He is a decent bench player though.

If it was to give fixed PAs for them, Kerlon would get around 160 and Guilherme would get around 170-175.

Kerlons' flicks and tricks are in a youth international tournament. Massive difference to playing against great defenders. Apparently he has done very little since this tournament 2 years ago, playing very few games and making little impact.

As for Adu, he's hardly set the world alight. He did very little in the MLS and his Benfica career has been slow. Neither have done anything to show they are potential world class players.

People see a few tricks and get excited, yet a great player posseses so much more than a 'seal dibble'.

I'd give Adu a fixed 160 PA on a good day.Not more.He was a very good 15 year old but he's not a very good 18 year old.As mentioned earlier he didn't do very well in the MLS and he's not doing very well in Portugal either.The media made him big and perhaps the same media have destroyed his career because of all the hype surrounding him.I hope he gets to relax a little now that he's out of the States and there's a chance he'll become a good player eventually.

The Adu debate is interesting.

He was inconsistent in the MLS. Flashes of brilliance mixed with games where he'd do nothing. Part of that fact is that he's not a particularly big or strong player and MLS is a fairly physical and fast paced game. That, plus other teams would target Adu because he had more techincal ability than most in the MLS.

Adu however was unbelievably good in the U-20 world cup. He was arguably the best player there and he showed the ability to dictate the game.

He moved to Benfica, which has to say something in and of itself. Benfica just doesn't go around buying 18 year olds for the hell of it. He's been in and out of the first team, but if you talk to Benfica supporters they do rate him. He's been an impact sub in a couple of games and he's got two goals (one in cup play). The Benfica coach has said that he's bringing Freddy along slowly to nurture his talent. Remember he's still 18 and he's getting minutes in one of the top team in Europe.

Personally, I think he's a fantastic technical player with a great awareness and creativity. He's just not a big kid and I think that *could* limit his development, but I don't think you can deny his technical ability.

I thought a -9 was fine; it should guarantee him a solid European career that may be great, but I don't think he's a fantastic talent like other -10s.

Oh and BTW i'm Canadian so I hate to admit the US has produced a fantastic player, but they have.
