"BTW last uefa cup final was all Spanish."

Cuz there was two great Spanish teams, wasn't it? One of them is playing on UCL now (Sevilla). Werder Bremen, wich lost at semi-finals, is playing on UCL too.
Just look at UEFA Cup now. Bolton, wich is not having a good performance on Premiership, got off with a draw at Bayern's home.

Besides, it is a totally different football in England. Messi for sure would have to take a couple of years to adapt. He's playing Spanish style of football since he was a teenager.
What did he do against Liverpool? (i guess he wasnt injuried by that time)
Ronaldo was already a wonderkid when SAF bought him. He said it by himself. But he took time to adapt, cuz he was like a dribbling fool and you cant play like that in England if you dont think fast enough. Ronaldo now got a great vision and pace.

C'mon, take a time and watch Barcelonas game. Messi is a crazy runner.

But hey, I wouldn't mind having both of them in my team!
i can never get messi. high release clause, Barca want +85mil for him. and he only wants to come after a few seasons. i still haven't played that long.

i agree completely. kaka is complete crap for milan in the Serie A. he's not even that good for Brazil. I don't know how he managed to score so many goals in the champions league last season

Framing bias at play.

It's easier to see highlights of Messi and think he does those highlights week in and week out. Well, he doesn't.

Whereas, english fans scrutinize Ronaldo's every ball touch.

I'm more critical of Ronaldo because i want him to do so exceptionally well. He has his strengths, and not-quite-strengths. I think the data update has it directionally correct, with Messi being more "football smart". Ronaldo's more physical game is also a match-breaker.

Who would i take for United? Ronaldo, no doubt.

Even those who watch full matches of Messi, let's say, have a different frame when watching Ronaldo and when watching Messi, especially if they're Man United fans.

I would be careful here posting "it's proved".

Here's my 2 cents.
Messi and Ronaldo both are match winners and play both a creative and flamboyant game.
Both are fun to watch and are very important for their teams.
The main difference i see is that Messi keeps improving every year and i didn't see Ronaldo improving equally the last 2 years.
They are both one of the best in the world at this moment.
But if Messi keeps improving this much yearly he soon will have no competition for claiming worlds best at that time.
I think SI changed his stats well, i also expect him to be this way at his peak irl! </BLOCKQUOTE>

1- Sevilla is now a top 4 team. And you saw what happened when they played a top 4 side from England.
Everton or Man Shitty would easily kill a team like At. Madrid.

2- Where have you sir been for the last two years?? Ronaldo has not improved?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA funniest comment i have seen in a long time. I nominate you for the Football Noob of the Year Award. </BLOCKQUOTE>

I think you should read what i wrote!!!
Not improved equally isn't the same as not improved at all!

And besides, Messi will never EVER be what Ronaldinho was and is. Ronaldinho is a genius, was a genius for Barcelona. Just look to all he's done for them. Great goals, great tricks, absolutely fabulous vision and creativity, Messi can't even think about doing that. And Ronaldinho was doing that at Gremio at 17, Brazil wih 18 and did it at PSG and Barcelona.

C. Ronaldo is now compared to Ronaldinho at 23~24. Does a lot of tricks, pass easily by the defenders, great speed, great pace, but i think Ronaldo is more complete. Great heading, fabulous strenght (who can stop him with no foul?), strong shots, and much more...

imho ronaldo improved more than messi last season. ronaldo before the world cup was only tricks and diving, no end product. after world cup he became another player. ronaldo is also very effective in the air, which i believe he is underrated in the air on the game.

Bah, I don't care who is better than who, I just enjoy watching them. An I wish England had some players of that quality to boast about.

agree. I really want to see English players playing football with joy. I thought Aaron Lennon would be huge, but he turned out to be a runner and nothing else.
I really like Rooney's football hunger. Everyone should be that hungry.
