Before I start, I love FM2008, but did begin bitching initially - mainly because I lost alot of games if I'm honest and was frustrated over silly things.
Anyway for FM2009 I would like to see the following -
More tactical options (obviously difficult to implement into the coding but would be nice).... such as clicking on player numbers and shouting things as managers would from the dugout, so clicking on Keane, I could shout get forward stop coming back, or to Beckham whip in crosses earlier... maybe a defender who I want kept back... just on the fly commands to enable me to want to watch a full game rather than just highlights. I know this is kind of implmented anyway in teh player options, but more as your watching game progress for certain aspects in the game when all is not going well, i.e. a corner I've got a feeling about or something.
Set piece maker...rather than saying cross low and near post, positioning players and asking them to make runs I want to see, so I can see it unfold on a pitch... how good would it be to see and then media picking up on that and that improving your manager rating.
A option to have more control of the team.. not really as a manager but more overall... i.e ticket prices, picking sponsorship deals (similar to feeders/parents) picking one out of three or something. Erm... maybe choosing to insure certain players... I know not everyone would like it as it becomes more "chairman football manager" but maybe a tick box in preferences.
I used to love on CM4 when you could pick what your players are doign for a week, again a simple option for "new timers" but then indepth for us old timers.. Tottenham have been awful at setpieces in real life, I am sure he just said a week fo set pieces after conceding so many goals..
Did ledley king miss his man in last game for a corner = well I want him concentrating on that in training.. aswsistant manager tells me how he got on before next game, if he didnt do well then I drop him.
Moaning to press about injuries explain why your not doing well... even have option to say I made a mistake, I played the wrong formation for this team, I made subs to late... Steve Coppell is brilliant for that he says it how he is.
Real life sponsorship with more papers, pundits, programmes, - imagine a caption with Allan Hansen saying " well they've let themselves down etc and his opinions on each game for that week" then a MOTD logo in other corner... little things to make it more real... I am sure by now FM is soooo loved that programmes would bid to have advertising in the game.
I am sure there is more I can thnk of but at the moment thats it... some ideas are probably undo able and some are likely to be disregarded as lame by others, but maybe make this thread to add yours in.... I think FM2009 will be a big yr as dualcore processors become the standard, and more calculations can be run together.
P.S FM08 is great thanks for the good work guys... and also updating us on patch
How about a Hype Engine, similar to the Match Engine, which would go into manic overdrive and be really distracting for big games, for example by keeping you in press conferences when you just want to go and play the game. Or how about journalists coming to you every day with questions and then printing your reply out of context? Or how about players' agents coming to you to demand that his player plays or he'll demand a transfer (kinda like blackmail).
