Here's a project I did a few months ago. A friend is a on a board proposing to try and get a naval museum built on the grounds of a seaside park in Gavelston, Texas. The park already features two World War II vintage US Navy vessels. The submarine Cavalla and the destroyer escort Stewart. Both vessels are grounded and buried up to their waterlines. I was asked to make a map showing the buildings and where the pathways and other features would go. Vector is great for making maps.
Also made a ground level view. Must confess tho that I am no architectural illustrator and it came out looking rather clip arty.
Being an Navy vet myself, this is a valuable project to pursue. Here in NYC the Space, Sea & Air museum is a great tourist attraction.

I like what you've done. It's easy to read your map and the illustration, tho simply made, has a really nice illustration look to it. I guess there's no way to really highlight the other side of the fence/building.. or were these two what was asked?
Tanya--yup, all they wanted for the ground view was something illustrating the memorial plaza and ascending ramp to the museum. I imagine if they ever get their funding they'll get a much more professional illustrator to render the entire grounds.
Like both very much. And, although chances are little that I will ever visit this museum, I can tell you that the naval museum here inEurope always are amongst the most visited.

Aye-aye. I love visiting a good naval museum myself. However, since this one is down in Texas and I am up in the Pacific Northwest it may be a long time-- if ever that I visit it...assuming it gets built.
