Am I right in thinking that this skin isn't working if you install the patch? Since doing that, player attributes <10 are no longer red.

Yesterday I put graphics folders from fm07s skins (navigation and boxes and selection and soon subfolders except) into the fm08 metallic skins folder.

After installing beta-patch many experience problems with customized fonts/size, attribute colours, etc. Since not everyone is comfortable with xml-editing it would be a good idea to release updated version of metallic skin (or I can upload modified version if it's ok with you).
BTW metallic skin is a "must have" if you want to use alternative text fonts, background, balls, nets, player icons and some other graphics.

You're right - something is up. In addition to my comments a few posts up in this thread, I am finding that the skin seems to be overridden now and then and reverts back to default. I have done your suggested XML tweak from another thread, and that gives me some changes to the attributes etc., but they disappear after a while. Very odd.

In 8.0.0 one could override settings.fmf and fonts.fmf simply by creating data\settings and data\fonts folders, now (8.0.1) that or even changing settings.fmf file itself takes no effect. One solution is to modify skins.fmf but I just didn't have time to look into it. Although, it would be better to check and see what adjustments are workable by using metallic skin or any other alternative skin until fmf-editor is released (which is long past due)

How many times, people you do NOT have to touch in any way the folder(s) where the game was installed , this would be the one figuring in your shortcut.

You add your things in the user data folder, that would be the one appearing in the Preferences panel at the bottom (which you can change to be other location/drive if you want/need so, if you do it then you'd need to enable the check box, if accepting the default leave it unchecked), take note of this location and place your files there.

Perhaps, this can help an image.

There is absolutely no need, whatsoever, to edit anything within the Program Files Sports Interactive folder.

This is actively discouraged.

Any skinning, pictures etc can and should be done entirely within 'My Documents'.
