I've noticed that every skin has some problems working with the new 8.0.1 version.
The problems are related to the "colours", "fm colours" and "settings" files (in settings folder).
The most common problem is the Player Attributes colors.
In most of the skins, with 8.0.1, the colors of the attributes are not those that are specified in the fm colours.xml file of the skin.
In most of the skins , the solution is to change the "fm colours.xml" file to "settings.xml".
It fixes the Attributes colors problem, but a new one arise.
When I exit FM 2008 and then load the game again, with some skin being the last one selected (not the original), I get some weird screens instead of the normal one.
Seems like the colors are not working and some graphics (like the background pic) not loading.
To fix this I load the original skin again and then switch back to Flex, and it's working...
but when I load FM 2008 up again, it's changing back to the weird state...truly annoying.
Ter, or someone who knows, can you tell us what are the changes in settings and colors in the new 8.0.1 version?
What has caused to these problems since 8.0.1?
I have experienced this with the flex skin and gone to the team screen and there is nothing there, but after reloading the default skin and then reloading the flex one everything is ok.

As I've said, you have to change to the default skin and then revert back to Flex (or Dds2 or any other skin) in order to fix this.
This is very annoying to do this every time you load up the game.
This is a problem and I'm trying to find a 100% sure way to fix it without having to move colour files around.
For some reason with a patch installed text colours will only appear properly when fm colours.xml is placed in the update-801 settings folder. I've managed to get colours working without doing this, but it involved deleting the settings.fmf files, but obviously that isn't ideal.
As you say, using settings.xml for colours fixes that, it's the method I used in the updated version, but upon reloading the game the skin isn't shown correctly.
At the moment I'm trying to somehow force my skin to use the colour files I've done, rather than the default FM08 ones. It's a pain in the arse.

Tottaly agree.
It's very annoying, especially when you have a skin like Flex which is way better than the default one.
I'm also trying to find a solution (as I told you, I'm working on a right-to-left version of this skin).
Let us know if there is something new.

I think that I know how to fix this annoying thing.
Black-In 2 Skin by "El Comandante Qwas" works great, without these problems in 8.0.1.
Download this skin and look at the settings.xml file, it's a bit different from Flex's one, I think that it's copied from the default settings.xml of the game.
I've put the settings.xml of Black-In2 into Flex settings folder, and it's work great for me!
