This game is too hard for me!!!!!!!!!
Im playing with arsenal and i start off well and then all of a sudden i loose 2-0 to aston villa when i was clear favourite to win!!!!!
Then i played marseille and had 20 shots on goal but cant score and end up loosing 1-0!!!!!
Who else thinks this game is too hard and unrealistic?
That's exactly what it is...try picking a tactic and sticking with it...FM 08 strives for realism...so you can't expect your team to be given a new tactic to learn one day, and have them be proficient at it during the next game...
It took about 5 games or so for my AC Milan side to get the feel of the tactic I set up...
I generally stick with the same tactic for home and away...but I tend to mess with the team instructions based on the odds i've been given and the team...
For minnow teams, I generally play a wide, and quick tempo game...
For the CL, most of the competition there is pretty good, so I'll play slow and narrow, to try and limit the opposing chances...

its a brillant read and has really really helped me a lot (so much so ive taken derby and in my 1st season finished 12th while still learning the game and in my 2nd season im now 2nd after 8 games)
he explains some simple but logic things where u might be going wrong

I have a lot of chances as well but my strikers rarely hit the back of the net. 3 games in row i've lost 2-1 with opposition having two shots on target whilst i have 10+. Almost feel like crying!

Agreed. One thing I am noticing with 08 that differs from 07 is that you CAN really play the same tactic with minor tweaks from game to game. And, that if you switch wholesale for each game, you will probably confuse your players. Can't say so definitively, but it has seemed that way.
