Ah ok.
My point of view is that a first team IRL hardly have the time to improve their skills. This would however be dependant on their age and maybe even roll in the team; matches played during a season.
I’m talking from the view of a top team manager (in European competition till later stages).
Normal week:-
<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">Monday - XI no/v light training (match was on sun), rest of squad would be training under normal conditionsTuesday - Light to normal training as players can't be to tired for the next matchWednesday- European match/cupThursday - XI no/v light training (match was on sun), rest of squad would be training under normal conditionsFriday - Day of rest or training under normal conditionsSaturday - Light to normal training as players can't be to tired for the next matchSunday - League Match</pre>
The Light to normal training is in theory changed depending on the workload you put towards your players. But I would expect the game to change the workload after a game and before a match; this would either be in hindsight of which players have played matches. All other factors like motivation, stats like professional would also be taken into account.
Sorry to be a bit general in my post.

The relationship between training and CA progression has changed for this year's game
If a player's CA can't improve, then training will reshape him rather than improve him. If it can improve, then training will be able to improve him, in the attributes according to the training schedule.
Then there is the effect of age on progressing mental and physical attributes.
Overall training is far more subtle now in terms of improving attributes, but more logical.
If a player has 100 CA and 100 PA then training can affect his attributes, but for every rise there must be a corresponding drop to keep the equilibrium. In other words you reshape the player's attributes over time.
Now that's what I found out...and this should explain a lot. Does it work the way its intended is my question to anyone else who's been reading this.
This isn't a theory...I cut and pasted PaulC's response to my questions.
The way I see it..If you have a player who has reached his PA then that player will not improve anymore, but any more increases will come as a result of a corresponding drop to his attributes, in order words, if you focus his training in a new area..that are will improve, but something else has to give.
A player also has absolute attributes, which do improve with training but ever slightly.
that makes sense if ti worked... i bought 22 kids, most of them have around 100 CA and 160+ PA(checked on editor) and half a season later they are all the same. most of times there are arrows saying the attributes changed but in fact they are all the same... same goes fot the players on the main team... without they patch they would get better, even on the demo my 1st team players would improve, with the patch they're always the same...
Yes thats all nice and probably true but still doesnt answer why my players like Pato and Gourcouf after a season and a half still look prety much the same......using my training from 2007 which was GREAT
