I have complained about the demo but yet the game I am enjoying playing. As much as I dislike being proved wrong FM2008 is enjoyable (IMHO). I hope this advice helps people as much as it has me, morale really is the key, if you have a bad start to the seaon and it seems the players, fans are alot harder on you when you manage a bigger club, ie Arsenal so you need to spend time really getting to know this game.
Not since CM01/02 have I sat down and taken notes (which I have started again) and have been at work thinking about tactics so FM2008 is excellent.
People told me previously to use a variety of tactics and to make adjustments during gameplay, well I agree, you will not do well if you do not engage during gameplay, you cannot play 08 like previous versions you will not do well. It took me a while to change my stubborn ways with regards gameplay but once you do you will see better results (not always) but you will see a significant improvement in match outcomes.
I have been keeping it simple playing 442 and have been setting up tactic prior to kick off, I recommend you really take the time to do this, again if you do not you will be like me previously winning nothing and disliking the game.
Try to stay with your promises if you are going to sign a player as a "rotation" make sure that player gets the games, also use team talk and not just generic, speak with the players on an individual basis, works for me.
Lastly if the game starts of bad for you, (you know the text) I susgest jumping into the tactics straight away because if you do not the result DOES get worse, sometimes all you can do is go on the defnsive and try to stop the landslide.
I know most are saying well "Duh" but give credit where credit is due, I was stubborn to change and would pick one tactic, not engage and wonder why I lost with even a top team, FM2008 is about tactics, I would say 80% of your game is now tactics, good results = good morale = better game. For those struggling with FM2008 forget about how you previously played you need to re-think your whole approach to this game.
