Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

...Silva, Pandev, Aguero, Owen and VDV in the same team?
I'm in my second season as Liverpool, the previous season I won the league by 1 point and lost in the champions final. I've got all this attacking delight in my team but no idea how I can use it best. Last season I played a simple 4-3-3 with Mascherano, VDV and Babel in the midfield and Aguero, Pandev and Torres upfront. Torres couldn't hit a barn door so I cut my losses and sold him, The team only won the league because of my defence, I was only scraping past lesser teams 1 and 2 nil, my strikers couldn't score, I had to rely on VDV for goals. My squad reads as follows

GK:
Reina
Itandje

DC:
Carragher
Richards
Hobbs
Zapata

DL/DR:
Insua
Barragan
Rafinha
Pander

DM:
Banega
Lucas
Mascherano
Marchisco

AM:
Silva
Ryan Babel
Aaritalo
Leto
Giovinco
Lulinha
VDV

FW:
Aguero
Pandev
Owen
Voronin

My question is, with all this talent, how do use it effectively to each players strengths?

(I also have a week left in the window to sell, although I haven't got a penny left)

A squad of 21 players is more then enough. You have 26 you need to sell

Get a formation you are happy with Im curring playing a 3-4-3 formation and winning every game.

So you could try that.

Getting your first 11 then pick 5 subs (including keeper).

5 subs inlcudes your best defender, best 2 best midfilder (1 uitzity man) and 1 forward.

Leave 3 back up players for rotation. (These players are under the age of 23 and dont mind not playing as much.

I suppose that is an option but there is probably a better way, if I use them all instead of some of them surely the team will be better.

And how did you afford all these players? Richards, Aguero, Zapata, Rafinha, Silva, Van Der Vaart, Pandev and Owen come to £130m by my reckoning. Either Liverpool have had an influx of cash by their 2nd season, or somebody has been editing....

Fair do's. Liverpool are one of the only top Premier League clubs with no debt I suppose. How much did you get for Gerrard?
