Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Players getting dragged in too often

When the opposition gets the ball in my final third, sometimes i see 2 players going for the same ball, or my CB moves out of his position and tried closing down the flanks and leaving my penalty box with 2 oppositions and only one CB.

Im way too open to through passes from the flanks. Any solutions?

Im using Alves, Zapata, Richards, Bale as my back line. Shouldnt pose too much problem isnt.

My 3rd season, and only Zapata played with me last season, so possibly "adapting" issue?

Also, a little info on my team instrcution.

Missed out another point.

Should i set my team to do man marking or zonal? Does the tight marking play a part as well? Against players with good off the ball movement, tight marking would probably be to my disadvantage?

lower the closing down for ur central defenders in comparison with ur full backs and central midfielders. i set it up so my central midfield and full backs close down wingers nd my centre backs hold off. alot more compact.

Ok, so for my formation, i should get 2 of my , full backs, CMs and DMF to close down?

To what extent? All the way to the right in their individual instruction?

Just realised my CBs were already rarely closing down. And that all my other players have their closing down marked to the team's.

Is it better to have my players man marking, or zonal marking?

closing down may well depend on where your defensive line is set, check out fareon's thread mate.
