I'm playing as Man Utd. and am in my 3rd season in charge now. In my first season everything was fantastic, won the league by a country mile, won the CL, won the League Cup and came runner up in the FA Cup.
My 2nd season was a disaster, I had some 60 million transfer funds and blew it all on the best players money could buy. The result? Came 3rd in the league, knocked out of the CL in the Qtr. Finals, out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round, and lost the League Cup on pens.
Now into my 3rd season and its the same story. Already I'm a good 7 points behind Chelsea who look unbeatable. My away form is really shocking, and I've now drawn the last games in the league 0-0, even against minnows like Sheff Utd. who got their first point against me. I'm baffled as to the reason why. I have strikers like Aguero, Rooney, Owen, Tevez and Lupoli. None of the them can stick it in the net in the league bar Rooney whos gotton 4 goals in 9 games. Aguero hasn't gotton a goal, Owen and Tevez both have 1 (in a 5-0 win over Watford) and Lupoli has yet to get on the scoresheet. Pretty much all my goals are coming from midfield.
Anyway here is my team. Perhaps you could suggest a new tactic and who should be playing where? The defence is solid as a rock so at least I dont have to worry too much on that front. I think I've kept 7 clean sheets in the 9 games played.
just played another match there with some tactic I downloaded off these forums. Played a 4-3-3 with Rooney, Aguero and Lupoli/Owen up front.
Lost 0-2 to Man City at home.
I just dont get how players with 20 for finishing cant seem to hit a barn door even with their morale being Superb and them being delighted playing for the club?!
If someone could suggest a tactic, aswell as which players should be where I would be grateful. Another loss or two and I could be out the door at this stage

Also the opposing keeper a lot of the time seems to get ratings of 8 or 9's, pulling off Gordon Banks saves. Even a near 40 year old back up keeper in the form of Kasey Keller kept a clean sheet against my 35 million signing Aguero

Your midfielders with arrows are pulling away from the middle of the pitch leaving space for the opposition. The AI will attempt to crack formations and teams are reranked after every season. Obviously Man Utd and lots of trophies in first season probably means that teams will play defensive against you and hit you on the counter. This will only help them by leaving the space in the middle of the field. I have only played the first quarter of season one as yet due to work and family commitments but do seem to be having unprecedented success when every other tactic I have tried as failed miserably - read my thread if you wish and it might clear some issues up for you. Good luck!!!

I doubt that. like I said I won basically everything on offer in my 1st season.
I kept basically the exact same team for season 2, bar 2 changes, i sold carrick and bout banega. and i bought rafinha. For some reason the tactics that got me all my tropies and fame stopped working and goals became hard to come by.
I thought I could solve this for season 3 by purchasing Aguero and Lupoli, spending over 55 mil on the pair of them. Still no luck, in my lastest games I got beaten 2-0 at home by Man City which has the board on my back.
I drew 0-0 at Chelsea though, it was the same old story. Cech was on steroid or something, he came out with a rating of 10! first time I've ever seen a keeper get a 10. I drew 0-0 with Blackpool in the LC (played all my first teamers, hoping for a 10-0 to boost confidence), in the end I was holding on as Blackpool missed a penalty in the 87th min!

try a 4-4-2 standard witn the mentality on first notch of attacking and counter attacking box ticked. if th opposition sit back just change from attacking to normal. also play your players in theyre correct positions.

its obvious then, because ur so successful in year one, teams are setting up completely different to you now. i bet most teams are barely having a go at u now. u need to find a tactic that breaks teams down. isuggest high defensive line and creative freedom for ur forward most players.
